I know that this belongs in the TV/Entertainment thread but I wanted to post it here to get the most viewers.

Last night (Saturday) CNN broadcast a live performance on CNN of the hit Broadway show by George Clooney titled Good Night and Good luck. It was great to see a live performance again as spectacular as this one and on live TV. George Clooney was awesome in the lead role as the legendary TV announcer Edward R. Murrow. In fact all of the performers were great. If you get a chance to see a re-run of this show i strongly recommend it.

Please read the following to get a better idea of the live show.

‘Good Night, and Good Luck’ revisits history and is set to make some on Saturday. Here’s how to watch | CNN

Looks excellent, Muggle. Disturbing that Clooney says what's happening now is worse than the McCarthy era, it must feel very similar to those who experienced it. It amazes me that people find Trump charismatic, I find him repulsive, always have. I feel the same way about Hitler. He came across as a ranting, ridiculous idiot but just shows you how dangerous people like this are. And how so many get sucked in by them. But as Clooney says, Trump's rule will end and hopefully lessons will be learned and more safeguards put in place so a President can't wield such destructive power ever again.

If Trump doesn’t make changes so that he can stay in power.

There is that ... but he can't last forever. He's definitely getting more and more delusional. He recently posted that Biden was executed in 2020 and has been replaced by clones and robots 🤣

I love blackberries. Every day for lunch I will eat a generous amount of them. Blackberry pie will come later with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Blueberries will be at their peak in about 2 weeks. Saturday there will be some for picking. They are late this year due to the rain that we have got. But, blackberries are my favorite.

Blackberries here tend to be quite bitter so you have to mix them in with something else or put loads of sugar on them!

Blackberries can have a little bit of sour taste if they are picked too soon. Because they are "black" does not mean they are ripe. I look for 2 things when I pick blackberries. The ones that are "plump" give a good indication, but even more important, I don't pick a berry if it does not fall off into my hand when picking. If you have to give a little pull on the blackberry it means it isn't quite ripe.

Picked some blueberries and blackberries today. This will be the last of the blackberry picking as the season is about over for them. Think I will make another blackberry pie. The blueberry bushes were "loaded".

Our blackberry season is about to start (providing we get some rain ) and I'll be making blackberry icecream which is something you really don't get in the shops.

I have a blackberry bush growing up through one of my hydrangeas, not where I want it at all!  The fruits are just starting to form.

That is not a good place for it. looks like you are in a predicament. Either keep it the way it is or cut out the blackberry bush.

I don't envy you.

No it's a bit difficult to see where it's actually growing from as the hydrangea is in full leaf and flower now, obviously I can't  put any weedkiller down, it seems to be sprouting in all directions!

Those blackberries look so juicy! They're nowhere near ripe yet here.

Well that is very unlucky 😅. Maybe you could just keep cutting it back for now, wait until you dead-head the hydrangea flowers and then see if you can find the base of the blackberry to pull it out? Maybe you could even re-plant it somewhere else (although I don't know how hard that would be, I've never grown a blackberry bush!).

Yes I think it will have to wait til it's finished, I don't want a blackberry bush, I have some down the end of the garden which are enough, I hate the prickles and don't even like blackberries!  So hopefully at some point someone will be able to dig it out, though it could of course be coming through from somewhere else.

Wild blackberries in the garden are a nuisance here too. Very invasive and difficult to get rid of. But we used to pick them along the side of the road in the country. All sprayed now, so not safe to eat. However, there are thornless varieties available for the home gardener, I've always meant to get some.
