Looks like being a nice day here for once, it's finally stopped raining for a couple of days so will probably do a bit more of a garden tidy up.  Hope you're all enjoying your weekend.

I am finally at the end of a weekend that has been packed with work, so I'm about to put my pyjamas on and make a hot chocolate .

Well, that's interesting. I'm all woman. I had to go back and look at the profile. I've been here for over ten years and never knew that's what it was.

Went into the supermarket today and thought I'd time travelled forwards,as they were selling hot cross buns😝

After a couple of nice days, spring is over for now so it's back indoors, to my jigsaw.

 

I did at least manage to give the grass in the back garden it's first cut the other day.

It’s still nice and spring-like here! I’ve haven’t had as much time for the garden as I’d like (exam time is approaching, so I’ve got loads of work right now) but I’m gradually trying to take all the dead heads off my hydrangeas. It’s satisfying but really time consuming!

As we're having a few warm sunny days I've been on a seed planting frenzy, have planted 3 types of sunflower, including Sun King, which is a huge yellow pom pom like flower I saw today in the garden centre when I went to get some compost, 2 types of zinnia, some cosmos, snapdragon and some cornflowers.  Fingers crossed they don't get eaten!  First lot of sunflowers planted last week are already seeding well.

Our weather has grown warm too. All of us have the cold. It's a bad one too.  My father has taken to his bed, my brother was sent home from work and can't go in tomorrow and I have a cough that is impressing me! Neither of us can be bothered doing anything as we are all exhausted.

We've had that here, and the cough that lingers has been called the 100 day cough.  Have avoided it so far but had absolutely streaming hay fever the other day, which is quite early, normally it's June so I'm hoping June won't be even worse.

Thank you Madeleine and Poppy. I feel fortunate that I’m getting some sleep and can actually breathe properly, my brother can’t (sleep or breathe). We are leaving our father in bed because he looks very frail out of it - he has constant access to bottled water for hydration.

Not too bad thank you, trying to take things fairly easy, just gearing myself up to watering my plants.

Managed the plants OK, phew, don't have as many tubs as last year. Tomatoes are starting to form now which is good.
