Madeleine Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 What did you think of it? We've got one more ep to go, I thought I had it sussed by the 3rd one but the last two have been pretty much incomprehensible. Looks good though. Quote

Sorry Madeleine, I didn't get a notification for your reply. I really loved this series, I'd like to read the book sometime. Thought the acting was superb. Just started watching The Singapore Grip which looks promising. Also the Miss Marple TV series with Geraldine McEwan. These are excellent and include many well known actors. Quote
Marie H Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Watching ITV4 Tour de France, live coverage in the afternoons. Armchair travelling/Thrills (and sadly spills). Quote

poppy Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Watched the first episode of Outlanders. I'm hooked! Quote
Madeleine Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 I'm enjoying "Why Women Kill" (on Alibi in the UK), which is a sort of slightly edgier version (more swearing, bit of nudity) of Desperate Housewives (it has the same writer), very entertaining and some great lines. Quote
Marie H Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 (edited) Agatha and the Midnight Murders. Loved it! EDIT - seems that the critics loathed it, but I still loved it! Edited October 11, 2020 by Marie H Quote

I tried Outlanders but just couldn't get into it. I am watching Utopia on Amazon Prime. Written by Gillian Flynn. Probably you all in the UK have watched a similar series. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8303474/ Edited October 10, 2020 by muggle not Quote
Raven Posted October 26, 2020 Posted October 26, 2020 2 episodes of Star Trek: Discovery down, and I can't say this season has got off to a flying start. The first episode was flat, but the second was better. 4 days to new baby Yoda... Quote

Brian. Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 I recently watched the Netflix series The Queen's Gambit which I really enjoyed. Like many people who have watched it, it has re-ignited my interest in playing chess even though I am a very bad player. Quote
Anna Faversham Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 I've been wading my way through box sets and long series like my current one - Morse. It's yonks since I watched Morse and I always used to fall asleep before the ending so I never knew whodunnit, now, thanks to lockdown, I can find out the culprit. Quote
poppy Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 The new series of All Creatures Great and Small plus we're getting a repeat of all the original series Quote

Madeleine Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Did anyone watch the second series of His Dark Materials? Overall I found it disappointing, it was sluggish with some awful dialogue. It just about redeemed itself with the last two episodes, especially the final one last night, but the book was much better. On a lighter note, I really enjoyed Strictly Come Dancing this year, and was really pleased with the winner! Quote

I watched and enjoyed the first series, and felt comfortable with the changes they made from the books. The second series has been recorded, and I will settle down to watch that in the new year. Having seen a few of the previews I have been a bit worried about this second series, but will try to not be too nervous about it. *gulp* Quote

I won’t do a spoiler, just to say “who the flip thought up the name for The Child... Methinks I will still refer The Child as Baby Yoda.
