muggle not Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 (edited) Kris Kristofferson has passed away at age 88. 🙁 Kris was a legend in the music business and was also a fairly good actor. He wrote many great songs and was also a good singer. I hate to list favorites but I think my favorite was Me and Bobby McGee especially when sung by Janis Joplin. He wrote so many songs. Sad to hear this today. I loved his music. Another very sad loss was Dame Maggie Smith. 1 Quote

muggle not Posted July 18 Posted July 18 (edited) Connie Francis - May she R.I.P. In the 50's and 60's she was a huge success with songs like Who's Sorry Now and Everybody's Somebody's Fool. Francis retired in 2018, and lived in Florida the remainder of her life.[54] In May 2025, her 1962 song "Pretty Little Baby" went viral on TikTok, becoming a sleeper hit; when reached for comment, Francis said she had forgotten about the song but was pleased that her music—and the innocence it sought to represent—was being embraced by a younger audience.[55] Edited July 18 by muggle not 1 Quote
poppy Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Sad news. Very popular here in the 50's and 60's. It sounds like it's a pity her father wouldn't let her marry Bobby Darin. 1 Quote

Professionally she probably would have had an even bigger repertoire of hit songs, Darin was a good song writer. 1 Quote
lunababymoonchild Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Ozzy Osbourne, legendary singer/founder member of Black Sabbath who were in turn founders of the British Heavy Metal genre of music - not everybody’s taste I know but he was a legend before he became a reality TV star. 1 Quote
Madeleine Posted July 23 Posted July 23 He certainly was a legend, a true character, I'm not a huge fan either but listening to some of the songs they've been playing he was more talented than his notoriety could lead you to believe. 2 Quote
poppy Posted July 24 Posted July 24 What impressed me the most is how he had a concert and sang creditably only a couple of weeks before he died. I think the TV series the family made showed a quite different side to him, he was really just a softie. 2 Quote
