  1. Thanks for asking - she`s stopped squinting now, but it`s difficult to put in eyedrops when someone`s hiding under the bed ! Poor thing, she`s so scared. Hope your little one is recovering well from the abscess. The PC needs replacing ( the Computer Bloke says we can have it repaired for £100, or a new solid state harddrive for £400 - it`s 4 years old, so a new one seems a better bet... ) back in a week, probably !
  2. Aw, sounds like you have some lovely things planned. Have a great time.
  3. Yikes ! I`m less concerned for my fingers, more concerned that she might pooh or faint - she`s easily stressed, and regularly wees or poohs in her basket on the way to the vet, poor girl. I meant to post this too - Pet Psychic.
  4. Hurrray ! Though.... not so good for the mouse. Xiao-Xiao will eat anything ; normally, she`s pushing your hand out of the way to get at her bowl, whilst you`re busy squeezing the Felix into the num-num bowl. I suppose she`s never got over being a homeless kitty. Ditto - I have a vast wish list of ` wait till I see a second hand copy`. That`s a long time to listen to crying from the back seat !
  5. Kate, how far is it to your vets ? Mine is 5 mins, and it feels like half an hour.
  6. Thanks. She does some heart-rending squeaks when she`s captured for the drops, then hides under the bed for hours. It`s sad, `cos she doesn`t understand we`re being nice to her, by giving her medication.
  7. Thanks - there`s very little discharge now, though the eye doesn`t look quite right.
  8. Ooh, those are different ; I`ve not read anything of his work( I read a review for the Bone Clocks last weekend - it sounds like something I`d like - though the reviewer didn`t like it ).
  9. Your poor kitty ! I hope she makes a quick recovery. Xiao-Xiao had antibiotic capsules - they were easy to twist open and mix the powder into her food.
  10. That`s awful, Julie, so sorry to hear that there`ve been complications. Fingers and toes crossed that the knee improves in the next two weeks. Lots of transatlantic hugs and best wishes.
  11. Hope you feel a bit better soon, Devi.
  12. Aw, thanks Gaia, Devi and Kate. Have you ever tried putting eyedrops into a cat ?? Not fun.
  13. Exactly ! He just seemed downbeat and a bit sad ; it seemed to me that the others actors had come in bouncing and really grabbed the role. Don`t like the new titles. Or the new Tardis. And why can`t they sort out that mumbly sound problem ?? I enjoyed the cameo near the end, and the bit when the veil vanishes, but overall, this left me a bit untouched.
  14. Darn it, the Little Furry Princess has been back at the Vet`s today. She`s been squinting in one eye and there`s some discharge ; the Vet took a look ( using that dye they put in to look for damage ) and said she has a touch of conjunctivitis, but only damage to the surface of the eye. Her lower eyelid looks really red and sore. She`s had an anti-inflammatory jab and some eye drops ( twice a day till Sunday ). Her Vet thinks that`ll probably clear it up and she won`t need to come back.
  15. Aww, that`s really nice. Congrats on the number of books read.
  16. Ooh, bargainous !
  17. US Cover. UK Cover. Those are quite different, aren`t they ! I might have to splurge on the full price one, so I can get the stickers.
  18. Aww, you have one of my favourite authors there - Jasper Fforde. Hope you enjoy your books.
  19. I read a review, saying that it had stickers with it so you could make your own cover ??
  20. Ooh, I can`t wait to try the new Murakami one*. Hope it`s as good as 1Q84. * though I sort of can wait, `cos I`m waiting for a price drop.
  21. Hmm, Doctor Who returns tomorrow. I`m just not overwhelmed with excitement this time round ( but will still be tuning in... )
  22. Hee. I do enjoy having lots of books.
  23. Yum, more books ! I do like your little Owl bookmark pot.
  24. I`m starting to pile books on the floor now, too. I`m wondering if I should move some ` old friends` into boxes, and put new books on those shelves.
  25. It always makes me want to turn my head to one side to look at other people`s book titles.
