It`s down to 3.06 today ; I suppose it`ll skip around till all of the town is broadband-ised. 1.6 ?? << shudders >> Thank you ! I`ve read all of the Discworld books up to Raising Steam ( that one arrived today ) ; I haven`t tried many of his other books. I`ll get round to buying The Long Earth series ; I think you`ve read the first one ?

Hopefully there`ll be some money back from the Govt. to put towards the flood prevention costs ; if only they`d ban councils from allowing houses to be built on flood plains.... Oof, if I did that, I`d still be living in la-la-land where I thought I had only 2-300 books to read... You`re pretty disciplined though - and have limited space - whereas I`m thinking that I don`t really need to see the carpets ( overspill book piles... ) I`ve rather liked the `competitiveness` of reading lots of books, though I assumed it would save me from buying too many books.

How are things, Julie ?

Well, I`m finally back ( and up to date with what`s been going on ) - new PC, new router, new broadband ( BT turned on the super-fast service, so it`s around 9.2 MB now, yay ) and new flooding defences. The builders finished over the weekend ; some repairs and some new stuff. Now just waiting for a metal flood gate and new/more pumps. Hello all, glad to be back. Julie, love that avatar.

Ooh, you`ve read some interesting books. I couldn`t get past the first few pages of I am Pilgrim , too scary/graphic for me.
