  1. Ooh ! I`m excited for you ! 2C here and very clear. Pretty but....brrrr.
  2. Book 4 is, I think, set during the first or second book, timeline-wise. Its called the Serpents something ?
  3. Started The Dead Detective by JR Rain yesterday, loving it so far. Woman detective gets shot in the heart, and somehow doesn't die. Her Captain tells her to take a few days off and then work on her own case, cos he says the hiring freeze means replacing her would be difficult. So, she's trying to keep her Undeadness a secret, whilst solving her own homicide.
  4. Snow ! Sort of. Try not to snigger at the ` keep calm and carry on` vibe.
  5. It felt like a rush job ; there were too many other people`s points of view, rather than just from Diana`s perspective, and I didn`t feel that the characters still rang true. I`d still buy the next book, whenever it comes out, but only when it`s quite cheap.
  6. Great pics ! Love the cushion and the bookshelves too.
  7. I loved Shadow of Night ; it`s the third book I felt let down by.
  8. Thank you !
  9. Aw, thank you.
  10. Raffles - David Niven, Olivia DeHavilland - 1939 b&w film. Cricketer Raffles is really a Gentleman Burglar, who decides to go straight due to the love of a good woman. But his bestie - and brother of the woman - has been gambling and is in deep doo-doo , needing lots of money to avoid shame and jail. It's a delightful romp with fun performances. Cheaper by the dozen - clifford Webb, myrna loy. The original of the Steve Martin film, it's just delightful and somewhat deeper than the remake.
  11. Congrats on your book haul. I found A Discovery of Witches in a charity shop a few years ago ; I think I'd class it as one of my top cheapie purchases.
  12. Wow, congrats on getting to 200 books ! That's brilliant ! I'm hovering around 110 ; a string of migraines and feeling wuff ( rough ) affected my reading, though I'm still pleased to break 100 .
  13. Congrats, Michelle !
  14. Yikes and wow ! Commiserations and congrats.
  15. That`s such good news, Gaia.
  16. S4 starts this week here ; I find it`s getting quirkier and funnier as it goes on.
  17. Also liking NZ version of Midsomer Murders, The Brokenwood Mysteries.
  18. I really liked Shannon Hale' s Austenland. the graphic novel sounds good.
  19. Aw, I loved Grimm. You have 5 seasons to get through ! Just one ep of I know who you are , to watch now. I finished Professor T. ( pleased to see there's a second season ), have got this week's Legends and Arrow to see, and looking forward to S 2 of French police drama Witnesses. In docus, I'm enjoying Bettany Hughes latest, Eight days that changed Rome .
