I gave up on The Slap after a few pages for that very reason. Sometimes I can just tell when I'm not going to like a book.

Paper Towns was fab, certainly better than I was expecting it to be..It was an easy read but thought provoking all the same. My 13 year old daughter is reading it now and enjoying it too.

Nice review for 'The Storyteller' Athena, I received a copy recently from a Goodreads giveaway. I've only read one of her books which I thought was ok (My Sisters Keeper) but this subject matter sounds more up my street so I'll get around to it soon.

The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh is 99p on Kindle today, one of the top ten books I have ever read.

I would highly recommend The Light Between Oceans and Paper Towns (which I only finished a week or two ago), both excellent books and 5/5's for me.

Finished Paper Towns by John Green, excellent. Strangely I found it to be a clever combination of superficial and deep at the same time.. Four reads so far this year and three of them 5/5's.

What an amazing heirloom Julie, it looks very intricate.. I'm sure the making of quilts etc was a lot more popular when there was no TV to distract people.
