  1. Born Under A Million Shadows - Andrea Busfield
  2. Happy November everyone! Just a shade under 8 weeks till Christmas, how did that happen?! I've bought a few bits but need to get a bit more organised, though my kids can't really think of much they want, they have so much already! November is a big month for me as it is my back to work month, it has been nearly 18 years since I had a proper job! I have a accepted a job at a new soft play/mini farm business, I will be helping to run the toy/gift shop there, 3 full days a week, I am very, very excited but also a little scared as to how it is going to go and how I will manage the home, kids and dogs too. I'm just going to go for it and see what happens!
  3. I always read in bed at nightime but my new favourite place to read is in my new reading chair in front of my new Bi-fold doors overlooking the garden...only if I can get to it before Jojo though!!!
  4. We Never Asked for Wings - Vanessa Diffenbaugh
  5. Thoroughly enjoying 'Bodies of Light' by Sarah Moss, a rather eye opening (although fictional) account of womens lives in Victorian Britain.
  6. So glad to hear you had a lovely birthday Gaia. I am on the third and last day of my visit to my parents in Suffolk, it has been lovely and relaxing. My brother is joining us today and we are going to spend a few hours in Aldeburgh which is a pretty Suffolk seaside town.
  7. Am spending a few days in Suffolk with my parents and the weather has been lovely, reasonably mild so we were able to go to the coast yesterday and plan to go again tomorrow.
  8. Yes, it is, if you read it let me know what you think.
  9. It does get good reviews, I just wasn't fond of the main character at all, and she didn't get better in the second book, in my opinion. There's only one way to see if you agree!!!
  10. Just back from watching Miss Peregrine with my Mum...it was nothing like the book!! Pretty good though.
  11. I hope you are able to get around to it soon, I do like Kristin's books although I wasn't so keen on Firefly Lane and Fly Away.
  12. Winter Garden possibly if you enjoyed the war aspect of The Nightingale, Home Front was great too but more modern. Night Road was the first of her I read and very emotional and I want to read it again to see how it stands against The Nightingale now.
  13. I loved this too, I don't usually read scary books so I was terrified at one point and had to stop reading it for a while until Steve was home!
  14. Yes, I loved TSotW but yet to read The Angel's Game, keep saying I will read it soon.
  15. You always alert me to some great books NB, good concise reviews too. Thank you!
  16. I wasn't too hot on this one either. His other YA book, The Watcher in the Shadows, was better.
  17. Just finished Whippoorwill by Joseph Monninger, great read. Now starting Bodies of Light by Sarah Moss.
  18. Chappie...not great, even with Hugh Jackman in it.
