  1. Amazon for me too, for books and many, many other things, just in the last two days I have received a Bullet Journal, revision guide, a white board, a frost cover for the car and a box of Amazon Pantry goods. I have tried a couple of other companies over the years but none compare in price, speed or ease of use.
  2. I think Konmari and BuJo would go hand in hand, my KM has slipped a little now I'm working but I will slowly get completely back on track with a little time, the main difference for me is that I just love everything being in order now and can always find what I need without having to look in three or four different places first. I am trying to keep the same principles at work but it is difficult, it is a new company so the gift shop is still waiting on some storage and we are still on a huge learning curve with not enough staff so time is often against us!
  3. Ah! I'll have to read that review when I'm finished. I've seen lots of positive reviews but it is just a bit too bland for me, not helped I realise by reading only small chunks at a time but if it was a great book that wouldn't matter.
  4. Well done with the book cull Michelle, I might aim to do that at the end of the year depending on how I get on with mine! Hope you have a lovely 2017 with lots of even lovelier reading!
  5. Happy 2017 Claire, I hope it is a fantastic one for reading and all other things too.
  6. Happy New Year Madeleine, I hope you have a great reading year.
  7. Still reading The Letter by Kathyrn Hughes, should finish it tonight or tomorrow, it's ok but the writing is a little simplistic and not particularly inspiring. It isn't something I would abandon as suspect it is partly my mojo but looking forward do trying something else soon. Also need to get cracking on my 2017 thread! I wasn't sure whether I would do one but think I will. It may inspire me to read more?!
  8. Thanks frankie, it is indeed therapeutic, but it needs to stop, partly for monetary reasons but mainly because I am feeling out of control and I hate that, and so does Marie! I made a list of all the books on my TBR in readiness for creating my 2017 thread and I counted 184, too too many!! Hopefully I'll get to it this weekend, it was a busy week at work this week so happy that we have a quietish weekend ahead, I need to get some ideas for my bullet journal too! I suppose I shouldn't forget the housework too!
  9. Happy New Year Diane, hope it is filled with happiness and good health, and lots of lovely reading of course!
  10. My Bullet Journal is arriving today, it should hopefully be there when I get home from work!!
  11. To read more, preferably the books I already own and not buying too many more, had a crazy year last year in that respect!! Stick to the healthy eating, Paleo style, I know I feel better when I do so must endeavour to stick to it! Stay organised at home, even more important now I am working 3 full days a week. Good for my wellbeing too. Try and get the kids to be more adventurous with their food, batch cook more for work days, less crappy carbs for all!
  12. One of the saddest 2016 deaths for me was the loss of William Christopher on 31st December, one of my favourites in many years of watching MASH.
  13. I definitely understand that Brian, I see it all the time over our country park and runners often eye my dogs with caution. Thankfully I trained mine from an early age to ignore runners, and everyone else for that matter! I also taught them an instant down stay for those situations where I am unable to get hold of them. Unfortunately some runners seem to hate dogs and I even had one aim a kick at my old boy (13) when he was just standing still!
  14. I've been reading 'The Letter' by Kathryn Hughes for 6 days now, I was hoping to finish it in 2016 but didn't get close!
  15. Thanks Michelle, we should know more in the next couple of weeks, the Iraqis are not the easiest to work with at the best of times! Definitely we should support one another! I'm feeling pretty strong at the moment, I do have some Christmas money left over but have that earmarked for something else so I'll do my best not to cave! At least I'm working now so I have less time to hang around in Waterstones or sit online increasing the wish list, or more scarily the TBR. I have started writing down what I own so should have a starting figure in the next day or two, annoyingly I haven't updated Goodreads with books I've given away so I can't rely on the numbers on there! I would guesstimate 130/40 though.
  16. Thanks BB, it's not been all bad, looking forward to new year new start and all that malarkey!
  17. Have a great 2017 Anna, I'm particularly looking forward to reading your opinions on the Kristin Hannah books.
  18. 37 here too, much too much going on this year, onwards and upwards for 2017!
  19. Hmmm, this has been rather neglected this year; I have been on here but never seemed to find the inclination to post on my own log. It wasn't the best reading year for me, only 37 books read, mainly due to being busy with the house renovations and starting work in November, my first 'proper job' since before I had the children. I am loving it but am tired so therefore less reading. Hopefully I'll get more in the swing in the New Year, I really need to as it seems the less I read the more books I buy! Steve's job is in jeopardy at present so my mood has been a little low which I think has made me buy more book than I should, plus with the renovations I have more bookshelves than ever before and they would look horrid with anything other than books on them! So as always my New Years resolution is to buy no/less books...wonder what the chances are of that........... Anyways, Happy New Year to all my bookie comrades, may 2017 be a fantastic year for all in every way possible.
  20. Yay, Night Road was my first KH and I think my favourite, bit of an emotional one though so be prepared! Fellside is hefty but not huge and I read it quicker than many 300 page paperbacks as it was so compelling. The two books couldn't be more different!
  21. Two of Kristin Hannah's best books, in my opinion only bettered by Thr Nightingale and Night Road. Fellside was excellent too, hopefully you'll agree when you read it! Happy New Year Anna.
  22. Hmmm...not the most prolific year for me due to various events this year but I've still managed to read some quality books, looking back these were the best 10. Bodies of Light ~ Sarah Moss One ~ Sarah Crossan Come Away With Me ~ Karma Brown Eternal on the Water ~ Joseph Menninger Ghostwritten ~ Isabel Wolff Fellside ~ M.R. Carey In the Shadow of Blackbirds ~ Cat Winters The Ballroom ~ Anna Hope Only Ever Yours ~ Louise O'Neill Blackout/All Clear ~ Connie Willis
  23. Happy 2017 Sari, hope it is fabulous in every which way for you!
