  1. I've not had much time to read this week as it is half term but I am now half way through A Thousand Splendid Suns. I could very easily read it in one go if I had the time, it is that good!
  2. Has anyone read The Mill on the Floss? It's this terms book for my local reading group.. I managed to get a copy via Readit Swapit, but keep putting off reading it!
  3. ...and for this....
  4. Had a Waterstone's voucher to spend today so bought - Slaughterhouse 5 - Kurt Vonnegut (as recommended by Noll!) All These Things I've Done - Gabrielle Zevin (I really enjoyed 'Elsewhere' last year so I'm hoping this will be just as good.. :)
  5. Have a great holiday! Divergent and Me Before You were both 5 star reads for me this year, hope you like them too!
  6. Finished The Prince of Mist (Carlos Ruiz Zafon), starting A Thousand Splendid Suns (Khaled Hosseini), and hoping it lives up to all the great reviews I have read...
  7. ..flamingo who advised them too...
  8. He's the big guy.... (blush!)
  9. The Diamond Jubilee Concert - The Queen will shortly be lighting the final beacon, meanwhile Steve and my older two will be watching our local beacon being lit at the top of our local viewpoint!
  10. What did you think? I couldn't get into it but keep feeling I should try again?
  11. Yes, you definitely need to read them in sequence or they won't make any sense at all...... Personally I'm Team Emmett x x x
  12. Wow frankie, you have a lot of thinking to do! Much as you love your books you must do what is right for you, your books can either follow you or wait for you to return or to call for them later, they are very forgiving..
  13. Looks great frankie, another one for the wish list!
  14. Maddie (my 11 year old daughter) loved this book and has just started the next in the series, Jasmine Skies. Lovely artwork on the covers too!
  15. England vs Belgium
  16. Definitely! I swung between the two teams frequently but by the end of the last book it all made sense! New Moon was my least favourite of the books, Eclipse, (No 3), was by far my favourite..
  17. I'd recommend Joss Stirling's Soulfinder series, starting with Finding Sky and Stealing Phoenix, the third in the series is due out in October.. Whilst there is a romance in each book it isn't an all consuming obsession like Twilight. I also very much enjoyed Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin, definitely a diversion from the 'normal' YA ...
  18. I read it earlier in the year and loved it! Check out my book blog for a (very basic) review..
  19. Another possibly good one!
  20. Well, you didn't tell me where you live!!! Just seen you're in Kent, maybe send it with a courier and I'll get to it tout de suite!
  21. Yep, I just bookmarked your blog, you certainly take your book reading seriously!
  22. The Bear Family and Me .... I do love bears!
  23. I have A Street Cat Named Bob on my TBR shelf after meeting Bob near Covent Garden, he is one cool cat, he even did his own book signings! And you're STILL reading Shadow of Night!!! Maybe I should come around and do your ironing or something so you can get it read? Or is it taking longer as its not holding your interest?
  24. Keep going people, you're making me feel better about my 60+ books! :)
