  1. Oh no frankie that's awful, sadly there are nutters everywhere .... We just have to hope that some of the nutters love books as much as we do!
  2. Yep, you got it!!
  3. It is more like a wardrobe in that it is indoor..
  4. (It wasn't really like either so no need to be grateful.. ) It is more like an umbrella than anything else so far...
  5. Hmmmm, it is more like a hot air balloon but like a cheese and pickle sandwich it is more affordable...
  6. It's more like a cheese and pickle sandwich than anything you've said so far...
  7. Yay!!! Ok, what am I thinking of?
  8. Ok, different tangent.... Is it a car?
  9. An elephant? (Are we the only 2 playing this game?)
  10. It's a good emotional book Ruth, took a while for me to warm to it as there were a couple of moments where things didn't ring true for me as a doggy person but it won me over quite quickly. Me Before You was like that for me too, one of my best reads this year by far!
  11. Well, guess who I just saw?! Dani Harmer and Vincent are doing their training in my local leisure centre! I was just in the coffee shop picking up my favourite tea bags and there they were, sitting on a sofa chatting after eating their lunch, empty plates as you'd expect after all that hard work, although thinking about it they didn't look flushed or sweaty... He did have a very large boom box with him though so maybe they were just fuelling up before starting!
  12. Finished A Dog's Purpose, very very good, very emotional at times though!
  13. Welcome Eleanor! :)
  14. Thanks poppy
  15. I'm not sure what I'd ideally like to get down to but I really think I need to clear the books I've had the longest or pass them on or they'll just sit there forever...I don't really understand it, I was desperate to read them all once!!
  16. Is it a horse?
  17. Finished One Dog and His Boy, a sweet little read and one I can't wait for my animal loving daughter to read. Starting A Dog's Purpose by W.Bruce Cameron as I'm still in a doggy book kinda mood! After A Dog's Purpose there'll be 57 books left on my TBR shelf, my aim is to get to 50 by Christmas.......

  19. I agree, it was fantastic, a 5/5 for me!
  20. 1. Who was your favourite character and why? I'm not sure I had a favourite character, certainly not Evie as she was a tad annoying, Lend was sweet but didn't have a huge amount of substance. maybe Reth as he at least had strength of character and I felt from the start that he did have Evie's best interests at heart. 2. Was there a particular part you enjoyed/disliked more than the rest? The final third was the best as that was when the story moved along a lot faster. 3. Was this the first book you've read in this genre/by this author, has it encouraged you to read more? I've read a fair few YA books, I've enjoyed many of them but a few, like this one, didn't really hit the spot for me, it just didn't have enough depth, moving along too quickly and not exploring ideas deeply enough. I do however think it will be perfect for my 11 year old daughter when she starts to explore the genre. I will definitely read more YA as there are definitely some more great reads out there and it is a great way for me to source books for my children. 4. Were there any parts/ideas you struggled with? I didn't particularly struggle with any of it, it moved along quickly and it only took a day or so to get through, I just found the whole of it a little too... what's the word.... simple, for the reasons I described above. 5. Overall, was reading the book an enjoyable experience? It was ok..
  21. I've had a good reading week, I can only put it down to having made a decision to make a severe dent in my TBR pile (a la Chesil!) I'm feeling much more relaxed about my reading now... This week I have finished Hollow Pike, Paranormalcy and Ordinary Dogs, all good reads and taking this years total up to 45 so far, well on track to reach my target of 50, yay!! I have just now started One Dog and His Boy by Eva Ibbotsen ... continuing the dog theme!!!
  22. Oh, she does, but I'll be sure to keep reminding her!!
