  1. Finished Ordinary Dogs by Eileen Battersby today, if you like/love dogs you must read this one! . Not sure what to read next, off to consult my TBR shelf! :)
  2. I take a dissolvable vit c and zinc every morning, if I'm poorly I'll take an extra one to give me a boost..
  3. I now swear by echinacea, friends used it for years and I poo poohed it but tried it last year and it (seems) to work a treat, I take the high strength tablets for a couple if days when I feel a cold coming on and the symptoms never amount to much - touch wood!!! Hope you feel better soon Chrissy x x
  4. Thanks Janet, that's very kind but I'm determined to make a large dent in the books I have before adding to them any more, I'll see if I enjoy The Suared Plum first too. :)
  5. I think I may have to put this on my wish list, I have At the Sign of the Sugared Plum on my TBR she'll so I'll see how I get along with that first, thanks for the great review Janet
  6. Thanks poppy
  7. Is it a crocodile?
  8. Is it a zebra?
  9. If we're allowed to take pics I definitely will, I'm just so excited that I'll be able to get close to them. I'm intrigued to see how similar they are to my pet dogs, and I'm wondering what my lot will think of how I smell when I get home! Candyfloss may steer clear for a while!!
  10. Very true, I have just a few sitting there and have decided to read Ordinary Dogs as it has been on the shelf since Christmas time! It's started well, the lady clearly hasn't much of a clue about dog ownership and the poor little mite she has adopted isn't having the best start but I can tell she is already besotted with the little fella (Bilbo), as am I!
  11. It's all very controlled, sadly I can't just grab a wolf and take it to the local park.. This is the website if you want to take a look - http://ukwct.org.uk/ It looks like it can vary day to day depending on what mood they are in, if a wolf doesn't feel like a walk I suppose it's not a good idea to push the matter!! I'll be able to take a friend with me but not sure i'll have them crowding my driveway wanting to come..
  12. Not started brilliantly here, found out this week that a good friend is quite ill and also that another friends dog has today started a course of chemo but the prognosis is poor, not an old dog either . Also my old girl (15 in January) is showing serious signs of age now, whilst still pretty happy and mobile her back legs are weakening at a fair pace and I can see that we now may now have months rather than years with her she has been such a big part of our lives, was there before the kids and other dogs, plus though a fair few house moves and it will be so hard when she is not there anymore...
  13. In the UK a Spotted Dick is a pudding!! Very yummy, might have to make one this weekend now!
  14. Finished Paranormalcy for the October reading circle, it was a decent read but not brilliant for me, think it may be more appropriate for my daughter in a year or two... About to start Ordinary Dogs - A Story of Two Lives, by Eileen Battersby.
  15. Finished Paranormalcy for the October reading circle... Think I may read one of the dog books on my TBR shelf next..
  16. Sausage and onion casserole in the slow cooker, just making the mashed potato!
  17. Is it a coral reef?
  18. Is it an ornamental pond? (Boy, this is infuriating!!!!)
  19. Is it a bird bath?
  20. Is it a statue?
  21. Is it a sculpture?
  22. Finished Hollow Pike this morning, another excellent YA read, thanks for the recommendation Michelle. Will start Paranormalcy for the October reading group later today..
  23. Very proud of myself today, WHSmith in Windsor had a book from my wish list for only £2.99 (only £2.99!!!!) if you bought the Daily Telegraph, it's a book I'm really looking forward to too (Jojo Moyes latest offering) and I didn't buy it!!!! On the upside my friend did and we always swap books, but I won't see her for a couple of months so it was sheer willpower on my part, yay!
