      Thank you so much everybody.

  3. When I was a child I truly wanted to be Jo from Little Women. It's funny: I still want to be strong and independent as she is.
  4. Ohh.. I loved this song: my mom used to play it when I was a baby.
  5. It's too early, we have to wait. My God, unbelievable.
  6. Thank you very much!!! I feel more confident now.. and not so scared anymore.
  7. I have to se my neurosurgeon today.. last year I was operated on hernia and I have to check everything is ok.. but my hands still hurt and I'm a little nervous. If only i could be operated once more without doing all the hideous exams I did last years: I can't stand electric shock. Ok, I have to be positive.. and I've been thorugh it once, I could do it once more.
  8. The video is sooo sweet! Can't stop smiling, Frankie.
  9. I'm watching a program on books!! It's really funny: every sunday two classes from different schools have to "battle" on a book. Today book is Dollhouse, Ibsen. There are a lot of games and I try to answer too. I'm not bad, I have to admit!
  10. I'm really looking forward to start my life as I want it and as others want it for me!! But still, with no job I canìt study and I can't find a decent job without a degree because I'm too old to be a worker in a factory or something (yes!! In Italy you have to be no older than 26 to have a contract as trainee or apprentice). Sometimes I feel so scared.. But YOU Frankie,Pontalba and all the wonderful people I've met in this wonderful forum are, you help me so much! I feel less alone and more tough with your words!! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!
  11. Mine was Siddharta. My parents had a friend when I was a child. He didn't like children but I was quite unusual so he didn't mind talking to me. One day we went to his house and he said: "Do whatever you want but don't touch that book. It's for adult, you wouldn't undersatnd it." Do you know the beggining of The Neverending story when Bastian enters the bookshop and the man said "Don't pick up this book"? It went excatly the same! I was only 8 and that book introduced me in my own Fantasia: the land made of all the stories written in books. If I still live in that world I have to thank that man and Hermann Hesse' Siddharta. And yes, I have a copy. It was a present for my 9th birthday.
  12. Gambit.. oh my.. how can Alan Rickman be so cool? Nice movie, anyway.
  13. I think I have the same edition: I bought it years ago from a man who was born in England.
  14. Wento to the library yesterday, but still no Pancol. I took The casual vacancy, Riwling, Barney's version, Richler, and Alan Bennett's Two unseemingly stories. Started all of them yestreday and they seem ok.
  15. NCIS Los Angeles.. I do prefer the original, no Abby Shuto here.
  16. Friends.. definately. But I truly loved Lost, too.
  17. I know what you mean: Ww2 made a lot of tragic disasters everywhere. Primo Levi's books are important because we have to know the past to improve our future. Where were your grandparents from, Devi? I didn't know there was italian blood in your veins.. it's nice.
  18. Yes it is. We read it since we are children here in Italy, because Levi is one of the most important writer of italian literature. He's really important from an hystorical point of view too, you know, because he was in Auschwitz and so on. You should read his books and believe me, you won't regret it.
  19. Thank you, Pontalba. You give me a new strength. Thanks so much.
  20. Yes, me too. They were more popular years ago, though. Or at least, in Italy.
  21. Athena, I really hope you'll get what you want before becoming 30.. yuo still have 3 years, I wish you all the best. But for me, it's a little late: I really wanted to study, to go to university.. and it's definitely late. Even if I could start this september - and it's nearly impossible - I won't finish before my 33th birthday.. and that's the flaw in my plans: I can't turn back time. I must create a Delorian, that's the only way!
