  1. I've read a few of Jodi Picoult's books. The first was House Rules which I loved. I think my favourite so far was Plain Truth. I've got Nineteen Minutes and Sing you Home too.
  2. Glad to hear your wrist is healing Peace.
  3. Mine are usually put on the shelf in order of purchase. I'm planning to organise them properly by subject one day (they're all nonfiction). I have some in a boxes in the shed, too. Even though there's no real system I can usually find what I want.
  4. That's a long way muggle. If I did that I'd end up in either Australia or Antarctica.
  5. I'm pretty sure I've got this on my TBR. I picked it up because I'd seen it recommended on here somewhere.
  6. Neither have I, and no one would want me to. Never have I been to an international sports event.
  7. Enjoy Iceland Talisman. It's a place that's always fascinated me. I like watching the cycling too. We had an international race here last year for the first time, and we went to watch that. Went to see my grandparents (Mums parents) today and my grandmother gave me a book about her family. Due to family divisions I've never known much about her side of the family. I found out they came from England in 1873. I'm 5th generation Kiwi on her side. That means we're English on Nana's side, German on Grandad's side, and Scottish on my father's side and Maori on both sides somewhere. Quite a mix. In other news, my "baby" daughter turns 15 tomorrow!! Where did those years go?
  8. What about Hemingway? He was writing then, I'm not sure how popular he was though.
  9. Just finished Edge of the Earth by Christina Schwartz. I'm still trying to figure out how I felt about it. I mainly kept reading because I wanted to see if one particular character got his comeupance.
  10. I think you did the right thing Chalie. It's better she gets caught by the police than having an accident. My BILs sister was killed by a drunk driver, and I have no tolerance for it at all.
  11. I've recently finished "Frost at Christmas" R.D. Wingfield, and "Crack Down" Val McDermid. Currently reading "Fatal Voyage" Kathy Reichs.
  12. Good luck with the moves Kell.
  13. Thanks for that Pontalba. I'll keep going then. Have to see if my library has some more of them.
  14. Have you read Ian Rankin. His Rebus series are one of my favourite series. I've read them twice, and about to start a third reread. I know there's some other good authors, but I can't remember. I'll have a think.
  15. Finished A is for Alibi by Sue Grafton yesterday. It was OK. I'm going to try the next one in the series at some point to see if it improves.
  16. Those eye photos are weird Chesil. My son has to have them done once a year due to diabetes.
  17. Most of my books aren't too long, maybe 300 or so pages. I don't mind longer books though. The only issue I have with bigger books is difficulty holding them. I mostly read in bed and if the book is too heavy it gets really uncomfortable.
  18. I love that list. I can relate to most of them.
  19. Neither have I, but I've fallen up them. Never have I watched a cowboy movie.
  20. I chose blurb, but I'd also have to say author. I have a few favourite authors, and I'll look for things by them first. Then I'll look for other authors who write like them and read the blurb on those to choose. I've yet to find an award winning book that I've liked. That's put me off trying anymore
  21. I have, years ago. Never have I ridden in a large truck.
  22. Finished 1921 by Morgan LLywellyn. I put in a 'request for purchase' to my library for this, and they got it. Really glad they did. Can't wait to read the next one.
