I'm not sure what Easter dinner will include as I'm going to someone else's house, but I think they said something about turkey, so it'll probably resemble Thanksgiving. It's funny, but I'm part Lebanese, and we have something that is similar to galumpkies, but we just call them cabbage rolls. We also make them with grape leaves instead of cabbage. But they are filled with ground beef and rice, and my mom also throws in lemon juice and cinnamon. Then they are boiled to perfection covered in tomato sauce. Are the Polish and Ukrainian versions like that as well? Also, my mom puts the beef/rice in the cabbage raw, but I think I've seen some other people cook that stuff first.

I think Catherine Hardwicke did really well with the budget she was allowed, and I agree, that song of RP's was very fitting over that scene. Luckily they listened to her in the end! Almost the whole soundtrack is great if you guys ever have the opportunity to dl it. I could watch the commentary version over and over, never tiring of it. It helps you understand why they did what they did, and you get to hear RP's hilarious self-depricating humor the whole time, lol.

I would have loved for these books to have been around way back when I was a teen, lol. I'm sure I would have been just reduced to a giggling puddle since I was already a big fan of Sweet Valley High, etc. I'm watching the DVD tomorrow night with a couple of my friends who are dying to watch it just to make fun of how bad it is. Just watch, they'll both want to read the books though afterwards, lol.

My parents were teens in the 1940's and 50's, Talisman, so we grew up with massive amounts of LPs. They were all jazz instrumental (my dad was a musician himself so started his collection young), with a little vocal too thanks to mom. I have a few of theirs, and the rest are with my mom. Some favorites I remember of theirs were Charlie Parker, Bill Evans, Ella Fitzgerald, Ahmad Jamal, Julie London, Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz, and the list goes on and on. I have a turntable, but unfortunately right now I don't have anything to hook it up to so I have to satisfy my listenings at my mom's place. I've been told that they sell turntables now complete with USB ports, so I think it would be neat to get something like that so I can burn the LPs to CDs so they last longer. I don't know if any of ours are worth much money, but I know there are books out there that you can look that up in, so it might be worth while for you to check that out. Good for insurance purposes at least!

Yayayayay Roxi!! Have fun watching and come back with a full report! Watch the commentary too if you can, their comments are hilarious!!! Btw, those insane Cullenist folks give the rest of us a bad name! They are the reason I don't share my enthusiasm for the series unless in an anonymous setting, lol.

Hmmm... I wonder if I can still listen being that I'm in the U.S.? I'll have to look at it more closely

Thanks, Ben! I'm always looking for sites to listen to, especially here at work in my cube. Is there a galaxy on there you'd recommend?

Great, Charm!! I hope you like it - let us know what you think .

I heard this song the other day online called 'That's Not My Name' by the Ting Ting's and I'm totally hooked! I bought it from iTunes but I need to find more stuff from them and see if I like. It's been in my head constantly though, lol.

Hello and welcome, welcome, Kelly! Glad you found us and decided to de-lurk!

I just looked up gammon online so I know what it is now, yay!! I realized that all my dinners this week since Sunday have involved white wine, cream and garlic, and I haven't gotten sick of it at all! For some reason those three things along with onions, mushrooms and usually chicken or shrimp taste and smell soooo good to me.

Hmmm...tough question! I have favorite parts of each of the three I've read, but if you were to take a tally of the most-liked parts from one book it'd probably be Twilight. Each one is different though, so it's truly hard to decide. How about you, BookBee, and everyone?

I know, hilarious, right?!! Love it. I just finished Eclipse, and it's taking all my strength stopping myself from going out and paying full price for Breaking Dawn. I completely lucked out this last time and found Eclipse at the used book store, but I probably won't be so lucky with the last one. My old co-worker has a copy she said I could borrow though, so hopefully I can last until this weekend when I meet up with her .

Hello and welcome, Sarahlou! Glad you joined us! I'm a great fan of Sophie Kinsella as well .

Great... now I'm really looking forward to reading it! lol Russett Moon?? You scared me for a second there, Nicola! Besides, I thought it was going to be called 'Full Moon' I saw this graphic at a Twlight message board that I thought was funny: "I'd like to La Push Jacob Black off a cliff!"
-
Hello and welcome, Kala! Glad you joined up .
-
Well I've yet to read the last book but I sure wanted to punch Jacob too in Eclipse, lol. It sounds like he might be a little more tolerable in the last one? Certain things that SM does/doesn't write about definitely shows the depth of her writing talent, imo.
-
I wonder what took SM so long to get around to mentioning shape-shifters? I was going to say I hadn't seen that term in the first 3 books and I've yet to read the 4th. I remember that term being used though in that old Val Kilmer movie Thunderheart where the Sioux could shape-shift, though, huh...

Welcome, welcome, Bookologist! Hope you enjoy yourself here .

Hello and welcome, Mamfa!! Great to have you with us .

I'm scared to go watch Nutty's videos, especially after hearing a snippet of that Jasper song, man! lol I agree, BookBee, excellent avatar! I just finished that book so luckily I recognized the quote and I LOVED that she punched him! Annoying werewolf...

Although those photos of him in the latest GQ are mighty nice . I know he's supposed to be 'undead' in the movie, but the white caked-on makeup bugs me after awhile. I think he looks much more appealing in the restaurant scene - a little warmer. Oh yeah and Kimmy what is your BF even doing in the room while you're trying to watch the extras??!! You need your alone time w/Edward, doesn't he know that? lol

Be sure to listen to the commentary, Nicola! Hilarious stuff
