  1. That's my dream house! Although, I would have to get a cleaner to dust all of those books.
  2. Welcome to the Board hush-hush I'm also writing a book and know how hard it is to get it finished (in fact, mine is nowhere near finished!). There are a lot of great people on the board so I hope you enjoy it here. There is even a writing section, so hopefully you will get the help and support you need to finish your book.
  3. I like the word Plethora. It feels good saying it.
  4. This week's 'Dancing on Ice' starts in 15 mins, is anyone still watching? Also as it's a double eviction, who do you think will go? I think Sam and Andy may go today.
  5. Great review! I've read this novel and really enjoyed it too.
  6. I'm thinking about reading these two novels, so I look forward to hearing your thoughts on them.
  7. I've just finished reading 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' by Arthur Conan Doyle and I really enjoyed it. It was very different from the TV programme 'Sherlock', but I think that both versions of the story are compelling. Now I am about to read 'Time's Legacy' by Barbara Erskine. I was given this to read by a friend, who gave this novel a mixed review. So I'm interested to see what this book is like.
  8. After ploughing through 'Fall of Giants' by Ken Follett, I'm now reading a book that I'm enjoying! Although the method in which I am reading 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' by Arthur Conan Doyle (on my PC tablet) isn't as good as the reading experience you get with a paperback, I'm really like this book. Being a fan of the tv series 'Sherlock' which is based on the 'Sherlock Holmes' novels, I was interested to see how the programmes differ from the original texts. In some ways the two versions of 'The Hounds of the Baskervilles' are very different, but the same intrigue and essence of the character of Sherlock is contained within the TV programme and the book. Here's a 'snippet': Page 107: 'It was several miles off, but I could distinctly see a dark dot against the dull green and gray.' 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' by Arthur Conan Doyle
  9. I have a copy of 'Treasure Island' that was given to me by my Grandad. He was awarded it when he was at school, so it has be about 80 years old. It's a special book that has a lot of sentimental value.
  10. I saw 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' this afternoon.
  11. I read the Adrian Mole books years ago and loved them. I must try and find copies of the books to re read them.
