    Your Age?

I am 61 creeping quickly towards 62 in November.
  5. I had to read Jane Eyre for my English Literature GCE, ( as it was all those years ago ). I did not like it then , I guess because I had to read it. I then tried it again in my twenties and what a difference, I loved every page of it. It's well worth having a second try with the classics, after a suitable break, if you don't make it the first time. I agree that Jane Eyre is probably the easiest Bronte sisters book to read.
  6. I started with all the Enid Blyton Adventure ranges about 52 years ago !!!! I then went on to Agatha Christie in my teens.
  7. Me neither, I know I am old but did n't think I was that thick.
  8. Had 3 cups of tea and drinking coffee now and its only 10.30 a.m. Must cut down !!
  9. ' Gone With The Wind '. With so much talk about it on the forum recently I just had to watch it again. How sad is that.
  10. Hi daughter lol everything ok with me. Going for a walk up village for some exercise later , will browse books in 2nd hand shops I think.

Hope you are ok and not too busy.

  11. I also agree that 'Gone With The Wind' has to rate among the best. Melanie has so much love for everyone, never seeing any bad in anyone. She loves Ashley, her husband and Scarlett unconditionly, Another great love story for me would have to be' The Thorn Birds.' I am not sure how many of you have read this or seen it though, as it is a golden oldie. Well worth a read and a watch if it is a new one to you. Great story spanning decades and a wonderful love story.
  12. Done the ironing, washed up and Beth has just made me a cappi. Amy is supposedly tidying her bedroom but when I went up there she was sitting on the bed watching tv. Told her off and she went into a sulk. Think she is having a go now though.

  13. Hi, finding the forum good. I am pleased for Michelle as she was worrying about it. At the mo I am reading 'after you'd gone' by Maggie O'Farrell and really enjoying it.

Pleased you had a good holiday. x

  14. I have watched 'Percy Jackson the Lightening Thief' this afternoon. Fantastic really enjoyed it. I love being retired lol.
  15. Read the book many many years ago and seen the film about 8 times I have the DVD so can watch it whenever I like LOL.
  16. I have seen most of the films you are all talking about but found none of them too scary, although most were very good. The one film that disturbs me the most though is 'Pets Semetary'. I find it very distubing in places. Interesting how we are all different in getting 'scared'.
  17. Love Vinnie , the panda , and Fox's bis-cu-its.

    Great play Andy well done.
  19. I have just finished 'The Surgeon' and now I am hooked. very graphic in places but that works really well for this book. I found it hard to put down and was reading until 2 a.m. today to finish it. I can't wait to get hold of 'The Apprentice' now.
  20. Well done to Lewis and Jenson. 1st and 2nd in championship at the moment. Got to be a plus after the football!
