  4. Mad Max, couldn't believe how young Mel Gibson looked:o The movie's definitely dated though
  5. Another one that I have on my TBR pile I've read quite a few Richard & Judy recommends books & they're usually good , The Suspicions of Mr Wicher being the only notable exception , so I do tend to look out for they're stickers when I'm browsing the shelves in the charity shops.
  6. Hi Ben, interesting review on A Week in December it's on my TBR pile so it was good to read your thoughts on it . The only other Faulks I've read is Birdsong which I really enjoyed so I'd recommend that if you were looking for something else of his to try

  8. I've only managed to watch one of them so far but not keen on Anne Robinson I find her smirky face a bit irritating.
  9. I finished English Passengers this afternoon even with my youngest knocking a cup of coffee over it Brilliant read very funny but also sad. I'm starting The Eyre Affair next.

  11. I've got that one to read, I keep meaning to make a start on it but then I get tempted away by other books.
  12. Still reading English passengers should finish it either tonight or tomorrow & then like Bobblybear I'll be starting The Eyre Affair I also gave in to temptation & ordered The Forsyte Saga Volumes 2 & 3 from Amazon.
  13. I loved Downton Abbey so I'll be interested to read what you think of Past Imperfect
  14. This series just keeps getting better & better, I have absolutely no idea who the killer could be now:unsure:
  15. Birds Custard Powder, the tub I have now looks exactly the same as what I remember it being like as a child.
  16. I hadn't thought of it like that but yes I guess its a good way of dipping your toe in the water & finding out if you like their style of writing:)
  17. I'm planning on reading this next Claire, I have read Jane Eyre but quite a few years ago so would you recommend re reading it before I start on the Eyre Affair?
  18. At least you only spent a £1 on it, I find that as well, if I don't like the characters then it doesn't matter how exciting the plot line is it ruins the book for me.
  19. I'm really enjoying it, it's been on my TBR pile for awhile & I probably wouldn't have got round to reading it for awhile if hubby hadn't read it first & given it the thumbs up:) Still enjoying English Passengers
  20. We have bookshelves in the front room but they're all full so the rest are in boxes under our bed. I do get rid of books as soon as I've finished them either to friends or to the charity shop but my TBR pile never seems to get any smaller:blush:
  21. Sci fi's not really the sort of thing I normally go for but definitely tempted by this one. Thanks for the review
  22. I like the sound of Suspicion, don't think I've read any of her books before. Thanks for the review
  23. That made me laugh, I've never really felt inclined to read Frankenstein maybe because I didn't find him particularly scary on screen.
  24. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did VF, The Help especially is a must read in my opinion
  25. Over a 100 pages into English Passengers & really enjoying it
