  1. I actually really liked 'Vanish' although it was quite sad - I think I actually had a tear in my eye as I was reading! I also really liked The Surgeon and it's sequels. I actually got it free with a magazine and that's how I was introduced to her books. I've got The Bone Garden to read along with Keeping the Dead! Not read any Mo Hayder actually - any recommendations?
  2. I tried a Jilliane Hoffman book as someone had left it behind on holiday and I quite enjoyed it! However the sequel to it was terrible!
  3. I'm just about to begin 'The Bone Garden' so glad that it's supposed to be good. I've read a lot of her other books and have always found them to be very good. The Rizzoli ones are particularly good!
  4. I liked Blood Work too, I think it was probably one of the first Michael Connelly books that I ever read. I watched the film (with Clint Eastwood) after reading it and they had completely changed the characters around!
  5. It's part of a series featuring DC Anna Travis, so you're maybe best off starting with 'Under Suspicion' - the only reason I didn't read it was that I'd seen it on TV! I think the full series is:- 1) Under Suspicion 2) The Red Dahlia 3) Clean Cut 4) Deadly Intent 5) Silent Scream I'm personally really looking forward to reading the rest now!
  6. Well I finished 'The Red Dahlia' last night and I have to say that I was very impressed with it! Some of the storyline was a bit grim but overall I enjoyed it. Have managed to get a copy of 'Clean Cut' at the library so will be starting that tomorrow. Hopefully that will be just as good! Looking forward to reading the next ones in the Anna Travis series.
  7. I agree, he's pretty easy on the eye and really good in 'Amores Perros'!
  8. Oh I loved Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe! Not read the book but having loved the film, I might have to give it a go...
  9. I've got 'Let the Right One In' to watch on DVD so let me know if the book is any good! The film is supposed to be brilliant...
  10. That was the first Jeffery Deaver book I ever read and it was the best

    Your sports

I play netball for 2 teams and I cycle to and from work so I consider that a type of 'sport'!
  12. Awww thanks very much guys!! :D

  13. Mine is just my first name! My mum thought she would be different and spell it with one 's' which is why nobody ever spells my name right!
  14. Started this on Saturday and it's really good so far! The only thing I wish I hadn't done though was to stay up reading it into the early hours and then trying to sleep. I woke up after having a nightmare about it and was too scared to attempt anymore sleep as my boyfriend was away for the night! Even the dog sleeping at the end of the bed wasn't helping!
  15. I know what you mean! I've got Roadside Crosses on my bedside cabinet and I've actually had to stop reading it. It just wasn't capturing me like his books usually do! I usually can't put them down. I think it's the main character Kathryn Dance. She was okay in The Sleeping Doll but I just don't like her character. She just comes across as so annoying and right all the time!
  16. How did you find this? I've got it in my TBR pile...
  17. I have a dog, there is no way I could watch that!! I don't think I'd recover!
  18. I did that with 'The Green Mile' - knew it was going to be sad so took myself off upstairs for about 10 minutes!
  19. I've learnt not to go to Pizza Hut at lunch when I have to come back to work in the afternoon! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  20. I sure will! I'm picking it up at post office tomorrow so will start reading asap. I've been waiting for it all week and had I know it was too flipping big to fit through my letterbox I'd would have had it delivered to work and started it last night!!
  21. I've read the first 2 pages so far - you're putting me to shame! Will definitely attempt more this weekend, although saying that I have a delivery at the post office to pick up more books... It's okay I've had the book for about 4 years now. This is going to be the year it will be read!
  22. I used to get 4 buses a day to work and loved reading on the bus!! I'd get to work and be annoyed that I had to stop reading.. Unfortunately I now cycle so completely miss the whole reading on the bus fun. I agree with the trying to see what other people are reading. I'm just nosy! Plus I like to see if it's a book I've read or not. I think I've nearly damaged my eyes trying to look before!
  23. Oh my god, Braveheart!! I forgot that one! I tried not to cry but my bloody throat was killing from the lump in it!
  24. For me it's Philadelphia......you know the bit where he walks out of Denzel's office all pale and gaunt and you can just hear in the background Bruce Springsteen singing. Get a massive lump in my throat! Also, Tears of the Sun and Pay it Forward. They're another two that render me a blubbing mess!
