I read Life Of Pi at around the same time as The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Nighttime. I swore blind on some occasions that I was reading The Curious Incident Of The Life Of Pi In The Dog's Time.

Are they? I'd be interested to find out about that. I read Life Of Pi at quite an interesting point in my life. I believe it affects people in different ways depending on where one is in ones life, don't you think? The Princess Bride has something for everyone though, eh? My name is Inigo Montoya. You do make me chuckle, fella. I guess Navya must indeed be really looking forward to Angels & Demons. I only got as far as Wizard & Glass with The Dark Tower series. Worth pursuing? I really loved the first three, but got, like, well bored during the fourth and thought 'Life's too short' and put it back on me shelf. Do I have another go, or what? Cheers, mate.

The Hard Way by Lee Child I'm not going to quote the synopsis, because the blurb always put me off these books, and I wish they hadn't. I'm not a macho kind of guy. I don't like 'Laddishness'. I don't like fighting. I don't have any sporting competitiveness in my being at all. So the blurb on the back of these books were always going to put me off. I read Killing Floor, the first of Lee Child's novels, purely because someone had left it on a seat in the departure area at Manchester Airport and I picked it up. I was immediately hooked. I like to alternate my reading through 'thrash-through-them' thrillers to the more...worthy, if you like. You know, Man Booker Prize winners, historical fiction, that sort of thing. There is definitely an art to creating a thumping good page-turner of a thriller where you can't put them down. The Hard Way is one of these. Yes, there are clich

I agree with you. I actually read this one first, before Tom Hanks' Hair...sorry, I mean The Da Vinci Code came out. Don't get me wrong, though. I'm not a snob on this matter. I really, really couldn't put The Da Vinci Code down. Voracious, I was.

I loved this book. Even now, I still talk about it with my friends 4 years after I read it! Well worth persevering with if you've struggled in the past.

I have my own band, which plays my stuff. I've been writing songs since I was 15 years old - it was with my first band that I got to play down the west coast of your country. Back then I was the drummer, but I play the piano, bass, sax and guitar as well (in fact, I teach the drums, bass and guitar). In this band, I'm guitar and lead vocal. The genre is hard to place, but I'd say it's like melody focussed rock with McCartney/Neil Finn influenced melodies and Red Hot Chili's, Led Zep, Radiohead music influences. I guess a band you could equate us with would be Elbow, to a certain degree.

I've just demolished an entire 100g block of Sainsbury's own Dark Chocolate with chilli. My heart might now be banging like the clappers but, by gum, it's worth it!
