  1. I love all you have mentioned. I'm an easy-going kind of guy!
  2. The Wasp Factory is a fantastic novel - a brilliant debut of a superb author. Enjoy!

  3. As usual, you cost me money with all these new authors I need to buy! Glad you like Coben. One of my favourites.
  4. I don't know, but I know I love them all. I read Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow a few months ago and loved that, too. There's something about the starkness, the bleakness of the landscape that bleeds into the novels. These guys are fast becoming my favourite authors.
  5. Listen Against on the Listen Again feature on the Radio 4 website. Very funny.
  6. I, too, found this book terribly compelling and moving. I agree that, although the film is very good, it is nothing like the book. Fortunately, my book is one of the first edition paperbacks, and so draws no reference to Mr Smith at all. Glad you liked it, pal!
  7. And you, Madam, are the seventeen colours of wondrous. ;) xx

  8. Ayup, Chuckles. Keep your poorly constructed sarcasm to yourself. You're only showing yourself up. Have a look around the forum and check out the interesting discussions, the wit, the thoughts (original, believe it or not) and some of the blogs. You'll see you are wildly inaccurate with your 'observations' and that your comments are a tad inappropriate. There's a spell checker, too, dude.
  9. Neither did I. Just irritating, someone popping on here to go la-la-laaa with their first post. I agree with what you say and Chrissy, of course. It's all good!
  10. Crumbs. That's an extensive 'interests' list you've got going on there, lady. Welcome, and all that. Hope you're good and well.

  11. Giulia. C'est moi, checking out how things are going. What's the crack, m'dear? xx

  12. Yo. Missed your birthday, didn't I! What a dope. Hope you're very well, my friend. And enjoying Vlad. It's smashing, innit!

  13. I've re-watched V for Vendetta. S'all right. Seen worse.
  14. Hey Noll. How're things over your way? What's the news? Hoping all is well with you, my friend, and that you're having a tip top weekend. xx

Yo! How's the week gone, Nic? Any news? Any views? Any blues? Check out this dance move *Mac slides onto his back and does his famous 'Dying Wasp'*

    MM xx

  16. AWESOME book! Hope you like it as much as I did, Kylie. (Although it is a bit grim in places...)
  17. Why not join a forum and immediately irritate it's regular members by making a criticism based on very little information? Oh. You have done.

Crikey. That's more than I'd do. I hate sport, too. They called me "Allsports" at school, because I was cr*p at all sports! Have a good day, fella.

  19. I've read a few of these and have a number of the others on my shelves. As Chrissy has done, I'll Booker my shelves and join in. Nice idea. My Waterstone's on town has a case full that's already been 'bookered', which is useful...

Happy birthday, my friend. Hope you're having an absolutely cracking weekend! Pa-p-p-pa-pah-p-paaaaaaarrrrrrr!

  21. Yep, I'm going to be getting this one as soon as I have more than 74p in my bank account.
  22. You too, fella. And I'm sure I'll like it. I secretly enjoyed all the others! TTFN.
  23. OoooooooooooooH! Hark at her! Only joking, fella. I thought she might have been your favourite author...? On a serious note, I'm going to be picking up The Lost Symbol because you said it was his best one. You did. So I'm holding you entirely and solely responsible. Stay well, my friend. Stay well. P.S. I don't have a telly, dude, so struggle to keep up with the 'in' shows. I'm such a sad old bu**er.
  24. I'm not from Padstein/Rickstow, but know it well. We're from all over the place, lady! Me? From the Peak District. S'nice up 'ere.
