  1. Have heard great things about Things I Want My Daughter To Know.. Add it to my Wishlist?
  2. I've just finished reading this book..I did like it,but i can't really explain why. Although i do agree that the constant repeating sentences did become very tedious.. Also alot of the book, did tend to be very dramatized and hollywood-esque,like his constant daily struggle to look into his eyes..so when i foun d out afterwards that he had embellished and lied about certain parts (or all?) of his story it didn't much surprise me. However i did find myself feverishly reading to see how he coped outside of rehab..I'd recommend to read it,if only to see what the hype is about
  3. Boyfriend cooked tonight..and we had.. potatoes, jumbo sausages(!) and turnip..Actually quite nice!
  4. I read this a while back and i did enjoy, more so than Five People You Meet In Heaven..Have to agree that it was slightly predictable but I don't thin k it took anything away from the book. Its not groundbreaking.but tit is enjoyable.
  5. Yes i also have The Gift to read, but i seem to just keep putting it off,it was a present for christmas.. I am not a fan of Cecilia Ahern's at all (Think ive said that before!)
  6. Agree about A Place Called Here..It gathered no pace at all,it sort of just got to one point in the story and seemed to just linger there for the rest of the story.. I didnt really enjoy this one
  7. Mint! Or strawberry, but I'm rather fond of honeycomb aswell
  8. Pearl Jam?! I'm not sure,my boyfriend suggested that!
  9. I agree,my best friend's, who died 3 years ago, mother gave me this book to read not long after my friend died and i can say it most defnitly was a source of comfort, however i don't think you necesseraily need to have suffered a bereavement to enjoy and appreciate this book. It is a great weekend or holiday book,i finished it in one day but it is quite enjoyable. I also read For One More Day and enjoyed this immensely aswell:)
  10. Yes,I think that's what it is exactly,I suppose fairytale's appeal to a wide audience. No i can't say I'll be buying it either. The library copy will do for me. I seen Mercy-Jodi Picoult on your list.. I wasn't that taken with that book, found it quite different to her other books, but not in a good way. Sorry, didnt mean to put you off!!

    Your Age?

    I'm 22, 23 on the 23rd of this month!
  12. Absolutely agree. I just thought that If You Could See Me Now read like a six-year-old's attempt at an essay:irked: It really was a waste of time reading it. In saying that i did enjoy Where Rainbows End,it was'nt particulary imagnitive or original but for some unknown reasaon I did enjoy it but i would'nt call it one of my favourites.
  13. Oh I would defnitly recommend Change of Heart, very thought provoking. I also have The Gift on my reading list but to be honest I'm not really holding ot much hope. I just don't 'get' her as a writer at all. I think she is way too hyped up.
  14. I'm defnitly interested in The Time Travellers Wife now. Will add it to my list, birthday coming up soon,i think i may drop a few hints! Also intreested in the Anita Shreve book,Testimony. I've read one of her books before, can't remember the name and i wasn't that impressed with it. But Testimony sounds good from your review.
  15. I hate, hate, hate that bl***y ad for those marker pens that change colours! So annoying! I mean, why? Also, (like many others!) hate the Cilit Bang ads! "Bang and the dirt is gone" I think just bang is sufficent! I do like the Cadbury ad,but with the Phil Collins song, not Bonnie Tyler. Love the laughing babies ad,the last baby is so cute!
  16. Hi,I'm also new here,so welcome.
  17. I havent read Twilight but i have heard some good things about it. However i'm all for HP. It's just magical!
  18. But I didn't make a secret of it - it gave people the impression I was highly intelligent, which always amused me. Although I got slagged for loving english class coz we got to read To Kill A Mockingbird, Roll Of Thunder Hear My Cry, Wuthering Heights and Of Mice and Men and I loved them all I read Wuthering Heights and Roll of THunder aswell when i was in school and while everyone else was complaining about it i loves them both:readingtwo: I find that not many people of my age (early twenties) have no interest in reading and also many tenagers i know aren't that interested either. As someone else suggested the prevalence of the internet, television etc has took over.

  20. Yes i love Jodi Picoult books. I cant remember the title of the other book. I had a look at a ist of her books on the internet and i know there were only two i hadn't read,i just cant remember the name of the other one! My mind's going blank here, but i know i read,The Tenth Circle,Nineteen Minutes,Mercy,My Sister's Keeper,The Pact,Change of Heart..okay gone completley blank now!
  21. :DI thought i was the only one aswell. All of my friends seemed to love it. I actually thought all of her other books were below average. Especially If You Could See Me Now..I actually thought that was awful.
  22. Yes,I really love Jodi Picoult,I've read quite a few of her books, particulary liked My sisters keeper and Change of Heart..I think Salem Falls is one of 2 of her books that I havent read so I just wanted to see what it was like.. The Gift is the only one I havent read too! Did you like her other books? I have to say I didnt get PS I Love You all,too much hype..I did like Where Rainbows End though..
