  1. Oh dear. So very unintentional.
  2. I'd never heard of the term, this little one is so sweet. Please find a picture of a smiling camel.
  3. This one made me lol! Poor puddy tat! Could someone please find me an array of rainbow coloured handprints?
  4. I found this one, which I just love. Ok, a tougher one.................Could someone please find me a picture of a lake in a volcano's crater?
  5. Here you go! Someone find me a picture of a lonely looking tree please.
  6. Oh, that one really caught me off guard Janet.
  7. I have just been a'tescoing, and purely by chance two books fell into my trolley, Sarah Water's 'Little Stranger' and Marina Lewycka's 'We Are All Made Of Glue'. I have not read any part of any book for weeks now, but I'm still buying them ~ at this stage it's got to be purely masochism on my part.
  8. Lloyd Grossman is helping me make a chilli con carne tonight. My last few have been odd tasting, so I thought "S*d it, I'll cheat!"
  9. I love Mr Carlyle in anything! Although I love his Lecter, I think Brian Cox should take the crown ~ 'Manhunter' captures his intelligence and charm in a way that the later films didn't quite achieve.
  10. If you could hold off cooking this dish for a day or two, I should be able to get a flight! That sounds so yum!
  11. Jim Broadbent is brilliant as Slughorn. Robson Green as Val MacDermid's Tony Hill in her 6 (to date) Hill / Malone Series that became 'Wire In The Blood'. Hermione Norris doesn't do a bad job as Carol, but Robson IS Tony Hill.
  12. We also have the regional slang words, just to confuse things even further! It gets confusing just travelling around, I'm frequently "Huh?" about many of our slang words.
  13. If you don't know the slang word, Denise's post could be talking about anything!
  14. When you're finished with this wonderful book, take a look at this thread in the Reading Circle. It would be great to keep the discussion in there going. This sounds interesting. I will look out for this one!
  15. I am lost for words. Good gig?
  16. Cabin in the woods. Sunrise OR Sunset?
  17. 1) I often see friends in my dreams ~ they pass through Hitchcock like. 2) Whenever I think of my son (which is often), I have a simultaneous pang of missing him (he's north and I'm South) and intense pride ~ he's a blindingly lovely guy. 3) I love my car because it's the only space that I've ever felt belongs to me, and me alone. 4) When our dog and two cats die, we will not get others. They mean too much to us and are also a real tie, albeit a wonderful tie. 5) I love walking boots, and much prefer them to heels.
  18. I remember reading somewhere at the time it came out that the makers of 'Platoon' sent the actors of to boot camp, and told them they had to see it through or they'd be off the movie. Apparently it had the desired result of getting them all into shape and working as a cohesive team. Great film, such a great film. Another I recall watching years ago was 'Hamburger Hill', and the visceral capturing of the pointlessness of this type of conflict.
  19. You have sadly caught the I-meant-it-when-I said-it bug. Until a cure is found, you will succumb to this condition on a fairly regular basis. But don't worry as you are not alone, and the end result of the condition is more books to savour.
  20. Fairy Tale Of New York ~ Kirsty MacColl and The Pogues

  23. Granted ~ now you will remember every small detail of EVERYTHING. Phew! I wish that my OH and his brother could get the coving up without making a mess of my fab painting job. I am so proud of the result and it's currently being bashed and chipped.
