People that assume negative things about other people without getting the chance to know them.
Here, here!
My big bug? People who attempt to use guilt as a means of getting you to do what they want.
All it makes me do is resist more than I might have!

They are terrific! I love the light in them all, but the changes between the last two make it look as though the last one was taken 40 years ago.

This thread here might offer a few good suggestions for you.
I can suggest two straightaway. The first is the 'Septimus Heap' series of Books by Angie Sage; Magyk, Flyte, Physik, Quest and Syren.
The other is Phillip Pullman's Dark Materials Trilogy.
Both are excellent reads.

James Clavell's Asian Saga books are well researched and well written novels. Definitely worth looking into.

The sole activity for reading so far today has been to place my book next to the coaster mat so that when I stop for the day (around 5 tonight) it will be perfectly placed for me and my cuppa to have a quiet reading session before the evening stuff (cooking etc) kicks in.
Hey, it does count as activity!

The Enid Blighton 'Mallory Towers' and 'St.Clare's' series made me want to go to boarding school ~ although they are young books, and were pretty dated when I read them many moons ago!
Meanwhile, I googled "Fiction set in boarding schools" and this list came up. The first one might be just what you are looking for ~ a list of boarding school books with a brief synopsis for each.
