^ Tell me about it, it was a frustrating afternoon, it was up and down like a yo-yo! Watched the highlights on C5, a great day's play from England.
  2. ^ The list on the side of that page is misleading, I thought it was attendees until I saw Philip K. Dick and Terry Pratchett! Sounds good, otherwise.
  3. Ok, so Deadpool has just gone to the top of my list! NSFW Trailer here.

World famous (there are people in Finland who know of it now!). Lasted longer than my brother's first marriage, it did!

Australia all out for 60. If England hadn't given them 14 extras they would have been all out for 46! England 13/0 at lunch. Could be all over in two days, so much for my weekend listening to TMS!

Bwahahahahaha! Australia 21-5! One day test?
  7. I started reading my first ever Agatha Christie novel on Saturday (Sad Cyprus). With the exception of Poirot, all the men are jolly useless.
  8. Problem is, it is a one line joke. Expanding it and keeping the humour going would be difficult.

Saturday was fancy dress day as well, I'm betting there were a lot of costumes returned unused.
  10. I spent most of the month or so the competition was running for trying to think up a decent story but failed (the closest I got was an idea about the 10th Ring Wraith - Kevin - who doesn't feature in Tolkien's "authorised history". I just couldn't think of a way to make it work, though . . .).
  11. Amazon have £10.00 off if you spend over £50.00 today (valid on all orders, not just Kindle!).
  12. Minority Report is a pretty good film, though I'm not sure it bears much relation to the book. They are making a TV series of it now, as well.
  13. The Bench of Thought looks incredibly uncomfortable!
  14. Well done, Tim - that's quite a feat! They occasionally re-show the TV series on Yesterday and I caught most of them [again] a few years back. It's not dated too badly, mainly because of the period setting, but the budget constrained battle scenes are a little lack-lustre when you know there should be hundreds of troops, rather than a handful.
  15. ^ Spider-man 3 is disappointing after the first two, so don't go into it with high hopes. The Amazing Spider-man films aren't that bad; I quite liked Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone makes a good Gwen Stacey.
  16. I'm really glad I don't work with her, Monday mornings would be unbearable.
  17. It's 50°C in Baghdad at the mo. Another reason I'm glad I don't live there . . .

I took the day off to go for a walk, because of the nice weather. That didn't happen because I spent most of the day listening to TMS . . . Was it worth it? I'll tell you if we win one of the final two! (Good result for England, though, either way. Especially after Lords).
  19. So, have you got the latest Wells and Wong yet? ETA: Just saw this!
  20. The Incredible Hulk I've managed to miss this one on TV etc. so bought it as part of a HMV 5 for £30.00 Blu-ray offer. I spent most all of the film wishing Banner was being played by Mark Ruffalo, Ed Norton has zero charisma. The story was a bit thin as well.
  21. I still maintain that this is every 15 year olds favourite film (and there is nothing wrong with being 15 years old at heart. Or five in my case . . . ).

Well that went better than expected! (especially after we lost the toss!). Not out of the woods yet, though . . .
  23. Good-ho! I didn't know if you knew or not! (Sheep Chase is also very good, btw!).
  24. Out of interest, did you read A Wild Sheep Chase first?
