  1. You're right, it's not surprising you've read them They do sound worth a read though. Thanks peacefield! I've quite a bit of catching up to do on this thread though Definately gonna read em
  2. No fair! I'll definately be buying it in my next book order Have you read any Laurell K Hamilton? I believe 'Guilty Pleasures' by her is supposed to be good, it's on my list
  3. I will definately be getting my hands on Covet, it wouldn't happen to be about a certain fallen angel would it? (I loved Lassiter's character ) or maybe something similar?
  4. This is one of my all time favourite series'. I think the books are always better than the films and read each one before seeing the movies, although in this case, I did think all the movies were each good adaptions of the books. The film Hannibal Rising does stick pretty close to the book Univerze, only as usual, the book is better
  5. I have to say, I really enjoyed them! They seemed to get better as the books went on too although I think there was one that was a little OTT with the adult content and not enough of the fighting. I can't wait for Lover Mine to come out now!
  6. Thanks It was the J R Ward series that did it I think, and big books at that, the biggest was over 700 pages! thank you I think it truly is getting fed up again now though I really need to update this thread, I've read about 8 books since Odd Thomas
  7. Finished the last of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J R Ward and have started Fallen by Lauren Kate.

    In a Pickle

Hello pickle! to the forum, glad you're enjoying it here
  9. I agree with bookjumper! I read both cause I had to, not through choice as well and while I agree they were well written, I just didn't enjoy them at all. Animal Farm wasn't as bad as 1984 to me, but 1984 was one of the most depressing books I've ever read. Mind you I think that was down more to my personal taste. Sorry!
  10. again runner! Hope you enjoy it here
  11. Wow all these book shelves look great! I'm so jealous! CaliLily yours looks brill, your hard work at building it has really paid off We keep meaning to go out each weekend to get some new bookcases for my ever growing collection, but something always comes up
  12. Portydown? Ack what about ye! Small world! There's a few others on here from norn iron too, not nearly enough though ;) Love the profile page btw and your photos, you look very proud, I'm sure it was a special day :D

  14. Now that would definatley have to be a topic for discussion with him! There are lines which just can't be crossed with me
  15. I think seeing the play, educational wise, was a great way of helping with the study of the story. We were also studying George Orwell's 'Animal Farm' at the same time which didn't impress me at all I would imagine a play of that would have been a lot more fun! Don't worry, I don't think you dislike Audrey and I do understand your feelings on her in the musical, her cockney accent was a bit cringeworthy but I think her normal voice is beautiful. I'm so not a fan of musicals myself but I can still remember clearly the songs in this one, it was always shown around Christmas time so maybe there's a bit of fond childhood memories in the mix too
  16. Glad you ended up enjoying Pymalion in the end frankie. I remember we had to study it for an english exam in school and it was the only book on the list I enjoyed! We were taken to see the play too which was really exciting. I have to say though I enjoyed the film just as much, although I may be a bit biased as I just love Audrey Hepburn
  17. Hi Johnny! to the forum! Hope you enjoy it
  18. Hi Ilona and to the forum! Your avatar is beautiful btw
  19. "The King must die" Lover Avenged ~ J R ward
  20. Still reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J R Ward. I'm up to book 7 now, book 8 comes out this year.
  21. I don't mind sex in books at all, it's part of life. Which is just as well really as the series I'm reading at the min has lots of it!
  22. I watched the first series of this and thought it was just ok. Nothing half as entertaining or funny as True Blood, but then I suppose it is aimed at a younger audience As for the totty? Well I have to say Damon gets my vote every time ... but then I always did go for the bad guy type!
  23. you are too kind! Just wish I had that effect on my bank manager .. think of the library I could build and the books I could buy *wistful sigh*
