  1. Happy Birthday! :D

  2. Hi there Madelyn to the forum. Hope you enjoy it here
  3. Oh I'll let you know when I've read it Who knows, I might like it.
  4. Kookie has nearly finished Twilight, I'm really surprised how quick she's read it! She even took it away with her this weekend when we went visiting friends for the night and sat and read it on the sofa! Good job they are our best friends and understand. She also got the DVD today. She's already watched it 3 times ... nuff said.
  5. I couldn't wait to see what you thought of this one Lexie, its my favourite one so far, closely followed by the fourth. Really glad you enjoyed it .
  6. I'm a young woman who has just returned to the small town I grew up in to bury my father, who unbelievably committed suicide. I've just helped get my childhood sweetheart's Mum home after she had a mysterious argument with his fraternal twin. Something strange going on around here I think.
  7. Great review Mac! I've read Blindsighted and most of the series and also enjoyed them very much. I've also got Skin Privilage and Triptych on my shelves.
  8. Sounds great Gyre, I'll probably read these after finishing the women series.
  9. Hi Terrie! Welcome to the forum!
  10. Hi Christopher! Welcome to the forum
  11. Hiya! I meant to do this yesterday but I was a bit hungover and my head wasn't really where it should have been  As I'm sure you're aware by now the books arrived safely on Sat, just before we left so that was lucky, otherwise God knows where the postie would have left it  I've started In Silence and am really enjoying it so far. :D Glad to see you liked Dexter too, I hope you enjoy the Deaver ones as well. Take Care xoxo

Happy Birthday Kehs! Hope you have a lovely day! :smile2:

  13. The Finns sound like lovely people and if I ever get there I will definately look you up!

Have a great week hun, enjoy yourself and all that book browsing :D Have a good night and I'll catch up when you get back.:hug:

  14. When the news of his suicide reached her, she'd assumed that call had been a desparate plea for help. She'd assumed he'd called to give her a chance to talk him out of it. Or to say goodbye. In Silence ~by~ Erica Spindler
  15. Avery Chauvin drew her rented SUV to a stop in front of Rauche's Dry Goods store and stepped out. In Silence ~by~ Erica Spindler
  16. Wow! A 3 story book store sounds fantastic, such heaven! Finland sounds a very lovely & interesting place. Before I started chatting to you on bcf it never really occurred to me to visit it, but I'm quite interested. I'd love to visit a lot of places in Europe some time when the kids are a bit older and we can leave them at home! ;) Finland has now appeared on my list :D.

I love your english language quirks  Your version of 'earsdrop' makes much better sense. Your english is excellent, so you have absolutely nothing to worry about. :D

I will indeed let you know when I've gotten that letter finished. It has to be via his publisher so I dare say it will take a while to reach him

I'm now well rested and showered so I feel much better. I've eaten that much cr*p this weekend all I want to do is drink fruit juice and eat fruit! Wonders will never cease! I'm just starting another Erica Spindler book so I'll let you know what it's like, her last one was really good.

  17. Brilliant news! I hope you both like him as much as we do. Very appropriate Frankie!
  18. Happy Birthday Talisman, hope you're having a lovely day! :smile2:

  19. So glad you enjoyed Midsummer, sounds like you had a blast! .. and my goodness you're doing a lot of travelling this week, I bet your godson is adorable. Helsinki sounds good too, never did I wonder for one minute why you were going! Wouldn't matter to me anyway. I would love to go to a big festival like that, we don't really have anything like it over here, although now its more peaceful St. Patrick's day is getting a bit bigger. You enjoy yourself looking through the charity shops, I haven't been in ours lately, really must make the effort sometime and go get some bargains!

I have started a letter to Mr Lindsay and have included you and Ceinwenn as his main fan base here. I don't want to come over all gushy though so I'm taking my time with it. ;)

Enjoy your week! I'll miss ya and will want to hear all the details when you get back!

  20. Hiya! Our night away went well, we went to their house yesterday afternoon for a bar-b-que. The weather wasn't great, a bit damp, but they had a big gazebo up with a patio heater in it so we were able to sit outside till late in the evening. I ate way too much rubbish and drank my fair share of alcohol too! :o Got home a about lunch time and then slept on the sofa for a couple of hours

My son ended up coming with us. He's been so disrespectful and cheeky all week there was no way he was staying on his own. Maybe it's a teen thing, but he has this awful habit of making me feel like dirt on his shoe so he's not in the good books at all at the min

  21. Living Dead In Dallas is the second of the Sookie Stackhouse Vampire Mysteries. I started it yesterday morning and finished it last night. First time ever I've done that apart from short books. Synopsis Courtesy of Waterstones: Cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse isn't happy. Her co-worker has been murdered and no one seems to care. If that wasn't enough she's got blood-poisoning and a raging fever. Luckily, some friendly vampires graciously suck the poison from her veins (like they didn't enjoy it). But, seeing as they did save her life, when they come asking for a favour she can hardly refuse. She quickly finds herself using her telepathic skills in the search for a missing vampire, but when they break their good behaviour condition over a tasty blond, things go rapidly and horribly wrong ... My thoughts: Sookie and Bill's relationship is still growing strong and due to her agreement with Eric, the head vampire in the area, she, because of her telepathic talent is 'lent' out to the head vampire in Dallas to help him. Bill of course is sent to bodyguard her but things don't quite go as planned.. I flew through this book unfortunately. I say unfortunately because now I just want to go straight into the next one! Charlaine Harris is a great storyteller and I loved loads of the characters including Sookie. My favourite though is Eric, I have a feeling he's gonna get just who he wants . We are starting to see a few more supernaturals being introduced into the series too so you never know who or what's gonna pop up next! I've never read Twilight ( )only seen the film, but I imagine if you've just finished Stephanie Meyer's books and are looking for more romantic vampire reads on a more adult level (there are a good few sex scenes), these books may well do the job. 9/10
  22. I'm good Mac thank you and thanks for the comment Start with The Bone Collector, it will start you off on a great series. It's also been my favourite of the Lincoln books so far which is unusal I think for the first in a series.
  23. I would say that definately counts roxi We can't have you dehydrating, even for a book! I started a book this morning and finished it this evening, had a busy day too so I'm surprised I managed to read it all in one day! Don't think that counts though
  24. Hello Eliza to the forum. Glad you're enjoying it here!
  25. It never really occurred to me before joining bcf, I always thought 'What's the point? I know what happens! I'd rather read something new.' But I did enjoy Dracula again and will definately re-read more ... well maybe next year (So glad you still like me )
