  1. Wow! That's impressive, I can't believe how organized you are with your reading Kylie, I always write lists and try to plan my reading with the best of intentions, but then I'll buy a new book and find myself reading it on impluse. I wish I had just a little bit of your restraint.
  2. I know what you mean, I don't usually watch alot of TV, but the Olympics are on at the moment and I am finding myself completely distracted and not getting much reading done.
  3. I love all the old movies Scottishbookworm, I don't have a large collection, but the ones I do have are all my favourites. My collection seems to feature quite a few Audrey Hepburn, Sidney Poitier and Alfred Hitchcock films. A few of my all-time favourites from my collection are: Breakfast at Tiffany's Guess who's coming to Dinner To Sir with Love The Graduate Casablanca One flew over the Cuckoo's Nest Vertigo and Rebecca
  4. I really enjoyed your review Gyre, I've been recently thinking I would like to read some Japanese literature and Natsume Soseki is one of the authors I'm most interested in. I will have to add this book to my TBR pile.
  5. I am currently reading Midnight's Children and think it is wonderful, Salman Rushdie is a master story teller and his writing is beautiful, I can fully appreciate why this book was recently selected as the best ever booker.
  6. The West Wing Northern Exposure Twin Peaks Tim Burton films Johnny Depp films Classic films
  7. I read Middlesex earlier this year and thought it was fantastic! I was completely absorbed by the story and found it very difficult to put down. I particularly enjoyed Jeffrey Eurgenides writing style and felt his use of humor helped me to digest some of the more sensitive issues of this book.
  8. It really depends on the book and what mood I'm in, but I usually try to read 50 to 80 pages a day.
  9. I have way too many favourite books to just pick one, so I'll have to narrow it down to favourite book so far this year, which is Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy.
  10. I'm not much of a television person so I tend to read at night, usually from 9pm to 12pm.
  11. Bonjour Tristesse by Francoise Sagan Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote The Hours by Michael Cunningham
  12. Angus and Julia Stone - A book like this
  13. I finished rereading On the Road a couple of weeks ago and had mixed feelings. I did enjoy the autobiographical nature of the book and found his depiction of the beat scene to be interesting. But overall, I found the book to be way too masculine and self-indulgent for my liking, and I strongly detested his negative attitude towards women.
  14. Just a few of my favourites at the moment on the Ipod. Leonard Cohen Nick Drake Bob Dylan The Beatles The Kinks Joni Mitchell Cat Stevens Rufus Wainwright Martha Wainwright Beth Orton Elliott Smith Sufjan Stevens Edddie Vedder John Butler Trio Xavier Rudd Kev Carmody Clare Bowditch
  15. This is on my TBR pile to read with my eight year old son this year.

    Hello and Welcome!
  18. Hello and Welcome
  19. Sorry to build up your hopes Kylie; I had a look through Emily's box today, and couldn't find any of the Trixie Belden books your after.
  20. This sounds so.. delicious!
  21. I find Stephanie Plum is always great when I'm in the mood for something light and fun!
  22. My daughter Emily, loved these books when she was around 10 or 11. I think we still have a box of Trixie Belden books tucked away in a box under Emily's bed. If you like Kylie, I'll have a look and see if we have any of the remaining books you are looking for.
  23. Hello and Welcome.
  24. Hello and Welcome.
  25. My family are quite obsessed with Chris Lilley, they have religiously watched both his series, although I think We Can Be Hero's is their favourite. Both series are available on DVD here in Australia, so I don't think you will have to wait too long before it is released on DVD.
