  1. I only read one other book by Waller, Slow Waltz in Cedar Bend (I think that was the name). I hated it! So, I never tried reading his other books. To me, I don't think any of his other books could ever top The Bridges of Madison County. Janet, I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did. I never saw the movie because to me, the book is always better than the movie.
  2. During the work week I try to read an hour before work if I get a chance, but I mostly read for an hour before bed. On the weekends and vacations I try to read every second that I get.
  3. I remember my Mom always taking me to the library when I was little. She'd let me take out as many books as I wanted and when we got home she'd sit and read to me for hours. My favorite book my Mom read to me when I was little was the Amelia Bedelia series by Peggy Parish.
  4. The Bridges of Madison County by Robert James Waller and The Shade of the Maple by Kirk Martin are my two favorites. I could never say enough great things about these books!
  5. Overall I really liked The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella. Yes, the story was a bit far-fetched, but I loved the characters. Had I not been disappointed by the ending I would have given the book a 5/5, but it really left me wanting more, so it gets a 4/5. I'd recommend it if your looking for a quick, fun summer read. =)
  6. Kell, I love the idea of using a plastic cover. I don't mind lending out my books, but I extremely dislike when I get them back all dirty and scuffed. I like your passport idea as well. I'm definitely going to try these the next time I lend out my books. Thanks! =)
  7. Samantha, I highly recommend Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. It was required reading when I was in high school, but I loved it so much I've re-read it several times since then.
  8. My mother gave me a copy of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn when I was younger because it was one of her favorites and now its one of mine too. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. =)
  9. Kelly, I was worried that Everyone Worth Knowing would be similar to Devil Wears Prada, but I'll have to give it a try anyway since I already bought it. =( Have you read Cecelia Ahern's newest book There's No Place Like Here? I don't know anyone who's read it and the reviews I saw were mixed. I think I'll start Undomestic Goddess next since everyone who's read it seems to have liked it.
  10. Kelly, I'll take your word for it and try both. =)
  11. Kelly, I was curious what you thought of Metro Girl and Motor Mouth by Janet Evanovich since you've read some of the Plum books as well. I was going to read both books because I LOVE the Plum series, but someone once told me not to bother, that they don't compare at all to the Plum books.
  12. flowersarah, I haven't read Undomestic Goddess or Remember Me? yet. As soon as I do, I'll be sure to let you know if they were any good. ii, thanks for the warning about Sammy's Hill. =)
  13. Like most of you, my dream job is to own a second-hand bookstore, but till then, I'd love to work at the library. So, I'm in the process of trying to do that now. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Thanks!
  14. flowersarah, I definitely recommend you read PS I Love You before you see the movie. Just saw the movie this past week and the book was soooo much better than the movie. As for The Devil Wears Prada, I HATED the book, but enjoyed the movie.

  16. I'm so excited this book is finally coming out in paperback. I feel like I've been waiting forever to read this book.
  17. Right now my books are on a small bookshelf (which is overflowing) in my bedroom. However, I'll be moving in a couple of weeks and I have a spare room in my new apartment that I'll be using as a library/office. I can't wait!
  18. I use my library all the time. Not only for books, but for magazines, CD's to update my iPod and DVD's too. Using the library has saved me tons of money, you can't beat that!
  19. I use to read mostly fiction books, but late last year I got into reading non-fiction and loved it. So lately all I've been reading is non-fiction.
