  8. Hey Liz! Welcome to the forum!! =)
  9. The peanut butter ones are my favorite! =)
  10. 1. What do you normally have for breakfast? During the week I have oatmeal or wheat bran cereal and on the weekends I like to treat myself to scrambled eggs with a whole wheat english muffin or I have peanut butter and jelly on a whole wheat waffle. Oh, and I can't got without OJ with my breakfast. 2. What is your favorite breakfast? My favorite breakfast is scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes, sausage and toast, and of course OJ. Echo, I thought the cubed kind were home fries and the shredded kind are hash browns. Maybe that's only on the East coast?
  11. A throng of bearded men, in sad-colored garments and gray, steeple-crowned hats, intermixed with women, some wearing hoods, and others bareheaded, was assembled in front of a wooden ediface, the door of which was heavily timbered with oak, and studded with iron spikes. The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
  12. The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski Synopsis: Born mute, speaking only in sign, Edgar Sawtelle leads an idyllic life on his family's farm in remote northern Wisconsin where they raise and train an extraordinary breed of dog. But when tragedy strikes, Edgar is forced to flee into the vast neighboring wilderness, accompanied by only three yearling pups. Struggling for survival, Edgar comes of age in the wild, and must face the choice of leaving forever or revealing the terrible truth behind what has happened. A riveting family saga as well as a brilliant exploration of the limits of language, The Story of Edgar Sawtelle is destined to become a modern classic. Courtesy of www.barnesandnoble.com Review: The Story of Edgar Sawtelle had great potential, but in the end, the author didn't deliver. The book was beautifully written and I was enjoying it till about the last 100 pages, which is when I realized the book was going nowhere and I was going to hate the ending. I can't believe I just wasted the past three weeks reading this book. I'm giving it a 2/5 and I really wish I could get my money back!
  13. Yes, that's exactly what I was thinking when I bought them. My boyfriend kept telling me we didn't need that much space, but I prove him wrong every month or two. Thanks, frankie and Stephanie! This room has been a dream come true for me. When I lived with my parents I had one really small bookself that didn't even fit half my books. When my boyfriend and I decided to move in together I told him that I had to have half of the second bedroom for a proper bookself and reading chair. I love it!! =)
  14. I love this thread! I'm so happy to see that I'm not the only who has OCD when it comes to their bookshelf. =) Here's mine....
  15. I'd much rather read a hardback, but sometimes I go for the paperback because its cheaper. If its a book I really love, or a classic, then I usually always buy the hardback.
  16. The only place I can't read is in a boat. Way too much motion for me.
  17. I have to give The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer a 5/5 because I absolutely loved it! Were they the best books I've ever read? No. But, there was something about Bella and Edward's love for each other that just drew me in and I couldn't get enough of it. I'll definitely re-read this series again sometime soon and I highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for a little escape from reality.* *Because I read Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer all back to back, it was more like I was reading one book instead of four, so that's why I chose not to review them individually. Also, I decided to keep this review short and sweet because I don't want to give anything away. Not even the smallest of details. When I finished Breaking Dawn yesterday the first thing I did was get on the computer to read other peoples thoughts and reviews and I was shocked at the many details people were giving away. Details that I would have been so upset to read before I read it myself.
  18. Stephanie and BookBee, thanks so much for your thoughts on Cecelia Ahern's books. Since I found PS, I Love You to be such a fast read, I'll probably save her books for the summer and I'll definitly let you girls know what I thought. Oh and Stephanie, thanks for the warning about Marley and Me. I'll be sure to have the tissues ready. =)
  19. Kelly, thanks so much for your review of Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer. I just bought this book today for $13 because I had to read the book before I saw the movie, but after reading your review I realized it probably wasn't worth it. Now I can save money by returning the book and just look for the DVD at the library. Thanks again. =)
  20. Wow, I completely forgot I read A Walk to Remember and how much I hated it! If I remember correctly, I actually threw the book across the room towards the end of the book. Though I can't remember why exactly. I also sold the book so I would no longer have to look at in my library. Anyway, I have to agree with you about Nicholas Sparks' books. I tend to read them when I want a quick "chick-lit" read.
  21. I completely agree! I couldn't get past the third Shopaholic book, but I've loved all her other books. Can't wait for her new book to come out.
