  1. Just hadd a look at your pictures of Bath, one of my favourite places to visit. They are great Janet.

  2. I did notice something different about him. I think he was a bit subdued. Maybe he has been told to cut back on his silly antics. If you look at the message boards on the Springwatch web site, a lot of people complained about him last year. I still like him, the programme wouldnt be the same without him I dont think.
  3. Are there any fans amongst us? I definitely am, watch it avidly every night it is on. Their venue has changed this year, they are in Norfolk instead of Devon.
  4. Hello Shelley and welcome. This is a really good site with lots of friendly helpful people. How many books do you have?
  5. Thanks Rennie, its a bit difficult to put it at the top at the moment I am in the middle of Mansfield Park and I have "After You'd Gone' from Inver's bookring, then today I received the free book from Headline!!! Phew! But I have made a note of your comments and will consider it when I am looking for a book to read.

  6. What is Prayer for Owen Meany like Rennie? Its on my TBR pile, but I havent got round to it yet.

  7. Hi Paula, what clothes did you buy then?? Heard you and Mike went to was it Watford?

  8. Those flowers look lovely Muggle. I have bleeding hearts too, only mine are white. I absolutely love them and plan to get some more. They spread each year so you get more and more of the little hearts all spread along each stem. I do like coral bells, but havent got any and I dont think we would get hummingbirds here in the UK
  9. How lovely to meet someone from the north-east on here. My mother was born in Ryhope, near Sunderland, which was formerly in Co.Durham, now in Tyne & Wear. So I have always maintained a soft spot for the area. Hope you are enjoying the BCF, love your avatar

  10. You will love that Nici, now dont go wasting it will you? We have had a pretty busy week really, we do get around for a couple of oldies. Been making lots of new friends at the U3A groups we go to. Went to a darts meeting last night!! Havent played darts since I was 18 (long long time ago) it was great fun. I hope Robbie has fun, has he been away from you before? I hope you wont worry too much

  11. Hi Nici, how are you today?

  12. I must admit I do try and work out what is going to happen as I am reading a book and I also am pleased if there is a twist that throws me off course completely. What really niggles me is when the characters or some of them are left in the air. One of Jodi Picoult's books did that (cant remember which one now) and when I emailed her about it, she said she sometimes likes to leave it to the reader to imagine what happened next, particularly as she feels she leaves clues. I have just remembered it was Salem Falls.
  13. Yes, they are flowers and shrubs in my garden. I particularly like the osteospernum because it bears the same name as my grandson Philip.:D

  14. Thanks Sarah, even better to actually be there believe me.

  15. I found Sense & Sensibility very entertaining and in some ways similar to P&P. So I hope you keep trying Kell. That said I am having similar problems with Mansfield Park!!! Its very verbose, much more than any of the others, but I am plodding on. I think it probably does help to see a film version, especially if it done by the BBC. I have seen Mansfield Park recently and it is only because of that that I am carrying on with the reading.
  16. I remember that programme:D
  17. You are very welcome Heather. I have a lovely photograph of my great grandparents with their children. I will upload it sometime.

  18. Hello Magdalen, welcome to the forum, I hope you are enjoying it

  19. You have thre same hirsute style as my OH lol. Welcome to the forum Welshman

  20. I will keep my fingers crossed then

  21. Good, lost a lb in weight today, had coffee with a friend, just got a bit of a twinge in my tum at the moment, hopefully will subside soon. Is Robbie ok? And how about your Mum, did she get that cream tea in the end?

  22. Hi Nici how're ya doing?:friends0:

  23. I hope you are enjoying the BCF. Lot of nice people on here and plenty of information about books too

  24. Re the Tinnitus article, I will save it and bring it up with me if you like

  25. It was in the 80's, I developed Meniere's Syndrome, which means you have terrible dizzy spins, throw up and even loose control of the other end. It use to come on with no warning. I am on medication 3 times a day and as I have got older, things have improved. I get about 3 minor spin a year now. I keep hoping I will go a whole year. Part of the OU courses is a week's study each year and I went to Sussex Uni twice in my time. I really enjoyed that. I also went to Keele Uni when I was doing the Arts foundation course.

Those are very different areas you are studying Kate and very interesting. I am sure you have to contruct powerful arguments dont you? I wish you luck. I have been to Worthing Museum, but not Bognor. A new museum is being developed in Rustington too, did you know?
