  1. I don't think I'm going to have time to read my book or write my review within the timeframe they wanted. I wonder how I'll be punished.
  2. I'm another one hanging out for Desperate Housewives.
  3. ^I'll definitely be reading them sometime soon. I've had them for years, but just never got around to it. I tried reading one of James Michener's books - I think it was Chesapeake - but I just couldn't get into it. It just seemed like a series of short stories set in one geographical area. That's what put me off. I had no interest in reading all these details about a character, knowing that they weren't going to be mentioned again.
  4. Oh, fantastic book, Rosegarden! The sequel comes out next month - can't wait!

    Yo..

    Hiya FanGirl. to the forum.
  6. Then you'll be horrified to hear that I'm eating a microwave meal right now, as I type. Sour Cream and Mushroom Pasta and Sauce mix. Yum!
  7. I've added it (Stuck In Neutral) to my TBR mountain. It sounds like a very interesting and unique read.
  8. I'm not keen on Shakespeare. Mind you, I have only read him in high-school, and was probably too young to understand or appreciate his work. Maybe I'll pick one of his plays up some time, and see if I feel any differently now.
  9. Hiya, and to the forum!
  10. It looks like they are making a SATC movie. I'm a huge fan of the series - rewatching it now - but I just can't see it working as a movie. Apparently it picks up where the series left off. Hmmm, I'll probably go see it anyway.
  11. No, it doesn't. But the cheese tastes delicious! Tried them, and I'm not too keen on them. That's another thing I miss. Continental (Aussie brand) do about 20, maybe more, flavours of the Pasta and Sauce packets. I used to live off them at uni. They're so quick and easy. He does? I'll have to keep an eye out for his brand. I have to admit, I haven't tried any of his food, though I do have one of his couscous mixes sitting around. As for making my own.........perhaps not. I'm not very good at making my own anything in the kitchen. Right, for lunch today, I'm having rice with barbeque chicken! Yummo!
  12. No, I've yet to start mine.
  13. I haven't found a good one in the UK. I don't like the frozen ones; I prefer the ones that you microwave and add the cheese powder. Yus, I was. I find the flavour so much stronger than the other brands I have tried. So, what brands are available in the UK? I swear I've looked, and have only seen the frozen or chilled meals. Are there any others available? I only really shop at Morrisons, and occasionally Tesco. Maybe I should try Sainsbury's or Asda.
  14. Shocking, but true! I'm much more of a savoury person. Is that the Wicked Cheese or something? I've had them, but I think they also have another one that looks like Cheezels. I love them all, but the original Cheese and Chicken ones are my favourite. I tell ya, I'd forgotten how good they are!
  15. I think I'm one of the few people that isn't overly keen on Tim-Tams. For UK folks, Tim-Tams taste very similar to Penguins. I have loads of Vegemite in the UK - it's one of the few Aussie foods I can find there. What they don't have are those delicious Red Rock Deli crisps (Sea Salt, Lime and Black Pepper, etc). I'm gonna take loads of those! Plus Twisties as well (that was the first thing I bought as soon as I arrived. I was suffering withdrawal BIG TIME!). Yum, yum, YUM!
  16. I always call the midday meal, 'lunch', and the evening meal, 'dinner'. So, for lunch today, I had Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. Oh man, I missed it so much! I've decided to pack up a box (or maybe several ) of Aussie food that I can't get in the UK, and ship it over, so I'll have it waiting for me when I arrive. Yummo!
  17. I'm with you on this one. I was so looking forward to reading this series, and I just wound up so disappointed. I can't recall exactly what it was I didn't like, but I know I couldn't read beyond the third book. As for the film, I turned it off halfway. Just not my thing at all. I'm really, really not into fantasy!
  18. That actually looks like a funny read! You can never be too prepared....
  19. It's on my TBR pile too, but somewhere down the bottom. I bought a Complete Collection set of Jane Austen's novels a few years ago, but have yet to touch them (story of my life, it seems ). I did like the movie, Emma, though. Someday, I will get around to reading them.
  20. Hello, Kathleen! to the forum!
  21. Not recently - it was made in 1986. IMDB gives it a whopping 4.7 out of 10.
  22. Try this thread here. There are a few links posted which may help you find what you're looking for.
  23. ^ I've yet to read that one. Heard it got mixed reviews. I have to say, I far prefer King's earlier work; I'll still read it sometime though.
  24. Thanks, Jazz! I shall add them to my ever-growing TBR pile.
