  1. I love historical books, they are probably my favourite. I especially like Jean Auel's Earths Children series set in the Ice Age, Nancy Mckenzie set in Medieval Times and Barbara Erskine who has mainly set her books in the Roman era but also a lot further back in time. I find it really interesting to read how people used to live....
  2. That's exactly how i feel! I keep looking at this thread thinking i know there are books that i really didn't enjoy but i just can't remember what they are!
  3. I can't wait until i get mine!
  4. I used to listen to a lot of audio books as a child, especially Enid Blyton and the also the Secret Garden. I remember that they seemed to magical! I think i might give them a try now!

    Gardening

Today i spent 10 hours in the garden (i am aching now ). I dug over and weeded the whole of one side of my garden - i have clay soil so that makes it pretty hard work - my Dad came over and did all my lawn edging and put some trellis up for me and i planted 4 new plants, gave it a general tidy up and barked the whole of my garden. All the aches and pains are worth it though, it looks so nice! Oh and it helped that it was 70 degrees although i have now got a rather pink nose!! That will teach me for not putting on sun tan lotion (well it is only April!)
  7. My Mum gets me a birthday cake every year with candles and she sings happy birthday as well I spend Christmas with my family so I do cook turkey but i also have beef and gammon. I always have pancakes on pancake day with sugar. And again, my Mum always gets me an easter egg - this year i have got a Fifi and the flowerpots one as my cat is called Fifi... But i also got a new plant for the garden as well!

    All About Kell

On a few occasions during July the temperature in my office was 32 degrees according to the thermometer and my bedroom was still 29 degrees at 11pm!
  12. My favourite chef is James Martin not only is he good on the eye but i like the fact that he makes "proper food" and doesn't go on about the fat and calorie content... I watched his new programme this evening on BBC2 all about desserts and i have to say that my mouth was watering!
  13. That's exactly how i feel Judy, when I was poorly a month or so ago Robbie was completely independant, including ringing up a friends Mum to ask if she could take him to school! Sorry for going off subject.....
  14. Robbie is at that age where he likes to cook as well (brilliant!) I decided to teach him the basics so if i was ever ill he would be able to make his dinner - his favourite dish to cook is sausages, pasta and cheese!! Oh and he makes a mean cup of tea!
  15. I often have "mish-mash" meals, especially towards pay day! And i also find that they are some of the best meals i cook!!!

Thanks for that Judy, I have watered it again and it's starting to look a little happier...i will keep a very close eye on it! I was going to move my buddleia as well but i decided that the roots were just too big for me to attempt to dig up!

Thanks PP! Unfortunately the roots are too big to get in a pot..... But i agree they are lovely shrubs and they get so big! I would think that we would have to be very unlucky to get a frost now but i have some fleece at hand just in case!
