  1. I haven't got one but my cousin has and she thinks it's great!
  2. I'm struggling with this one, too! I will persevere though

    P G Wodehouse

I've read quite a few and have loved them. A couple of years ago a (fairly wealthy) friend bought me a Folio Society copy of 'The Plums of P G Wodehouse' which contains some of his best bits. I'm not sure whether it's published by anyone else, though.
  4. Thanks for that, Lilywhite. I might give it a go.
  5. I've heard good reviews of his stuff so I putting him on my 'to do' list for the New Year!
  6. Yes, that was a goodie, too, Kell. But there were not a lot of laughs in 'First Casualty'.
  7. 'Dead Famous' by Ben Elton. A very funny yarn set in a 'Big Brother' type house. Made me laugh out loud. (Contains a fair bit of swearing, mind!)
  8. I studied this book for an exam a few years ago and found it to be a rattling good yarn! As with previous comments I found my sympathies to be with the 'monster' rather than with his creator. Frankenstein is an arrogant man who assumes the mantle of God with devastating consequences. I remember being amazed to learn that Mary Shelley was only 18 when she wrote this.
