  1. And, is there going to be a new "person" in someone's life. Last night's episode makes one think so.
  2. I bought a bottle of the Triventa "Malbec" red wine today. Hope to have it with dinner soon.
  3. The program is on tonight here in the U.S. And, immediately following Ugly Betty we get to watch Grey's Anatomy. Tonight is a good night for TV. Yes, I watch every episode of Ugly Betty. It is a good program.
  4. I actually always use Buttermilk except when I use the Vanilla Soy Milk.............Never use the regular milk if Buttermilk is available.
  5. As a variation of your recipe try it using 13/4 cups all purpose flour and 1/4 cup of cornmeal. BTW, I hope that your maple syrup was "pure" maple syrup, nothing better on pancakes. Another variation, try using Vanilla Soy Milk instead of regular milk sometime. My OH loves them that way and, actually, so do I.

Thank you JLB for giving us great writing. Jesus Out To Sea was also great reading. I thoroughly enjoyed all the stories and especially the Johnny Ace one.   7. My OH always uses noodles in her chicken soup. I guess that is why it is called "chicken & noodle" soup.....and it is very good.

  10. I have only tried their red wine and even then it has been so long ago that I don't remember which one or how much I enjoyed it. Guess that isn't much of a help.
  11. James Lee Burke has written 16 books with Dave Robicheaux as the main character. The books keep getting better and better. The stories take place in Southern Louisiana (New Iberia and New Orleans). Robicheaux is a very complex guy and the stories are hard hitting. I enjoy his writing as much as any living writer. My point is this is one series that not only has not lost its lustre, but has got better.

  13. Santa Rita makes a number of white wines in addition to their reds whcih are pretty good. Any idea on which type it was.... .....a Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, or some other white varietal.
  14. Many years ago I was a fan of the James Bond films and the books of Ian fleming. I had a paperback collection of every book in the James Bond series. Eventually I gave them to the library. I enjoyed them at the time but would not be interested in reading them nowadays.............time marches on.

  16. Robert Jordan has passed away....R.I.P. I do wonder what will happen to the Wheel Of Time Series. Will someone finish it.
  17. I enjoy reading on our screened in porch. It is nice in the fresh air and a little breeze blowing.
  18. jenmck, Flora Springs makes nice wines. I am an acquaintance of one of the owners of the winery, Mike Komes. He and I worked together for a large engineering/construction company (you probably know of the company since you are close to San Francisco). Mike was a VP of the company. I once bought a Datsun 260Z from him, many years ago.
  19. I read the unabridged version this year and strongly recommend it. Glad to see that so many of you are enjoying the book. I really enjoy reading your spoilers and comparing them to my thoughts on those items.
  20. I enjoyed Lisey's Strory but it was far from my favorite King book. I would read it again though as I really enjoy almost all his writing.
  21. What are your favorite type of red and white wines....... Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Shiraz, Malbec, Rioja....etc Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Grigio.......etc
  22. These are a few photos of my Aunt's yard and flowers in York Harbor, Maine. I took the pictures while we were on vacation in Maine a couple weeks ago.
  23. Today I am going to have red beans and rice with hot sausage for lunch. It is a leftover from last nights dinner. I will also have 1 or 2 Habanero peppers fresh from my garden to eat with it.
  24. Hi Purple Poppy. The Haddock is very good as it is caught local. I sometimes have a haddock sandwich for lunch while on vacation. I know this nice quaint little restaurant where the haddock sandwiches are excellent. are you doing OK.
