  1. I have read many of King's books. Will have to go back and check to see how many. Some of my favorites though were : The Dark Tower Series It Insomnia
  2. There are four books in the series so far: The Eyre Affair Lost In A Good Book Well Of Lost Plots Something Rotten I bought The Eyre Affair from Amazon but since have checked with our library and find that they have all the books in stock so will get the next in the series from them.
  3. Wow, thanks sofia. i took your info and did a search at Calvert Woodley in Wash, DC and found it. Looks to be a great buy. This from CW: NV Quinta da Aveleda Avelada Vinho Verde what more can you expect for $6 This is a great white wine to serve when you have friends over who don't particulary like wine. It's got a little fizz to it, which is intentional as I understand it, and it's light and crisp. Dry, but with tart fruit flavors. And with a $6 price tag, it's about the best I've found in that price range. If you don't open it expecting too much then you might even be pleasantly surprised.
  4. Has anyone read books by Jasper Fforde. I just started "The Eyre Affair" and so far, about 50 pages, like it very much. He was recommended to me by a friend on an Auto Racing forum in Ireland.
  5. Sarahrob, you can't get away that easy. You need to tell us what type of Rioja and a little more detail. You still owe an answer between the 2 whites from Portugal, am patiently waiting, like heck I am.
  6. Is there anyone interested in discussing wine on the forum. Please post anything regarding wine. I have tasted 3 Spanish white wines recently, all bought at the World Market store in Virginia, USA: Nora - $13.99 Las Brisas - $9.99 Marques de Caceres Rioja (White) - $6.99 They were all very good and I will buy them all again. I preferred them though in the order I listed them. In these cases the better wine was the most expensive.
  7. Have any of you read Isabel Allende's books. I enjoyed House Of Spirits, Daughter Of Fortune, and Portrait In Sepia. All good books which you can get a good feel for on Amazon. I was fortunate enough to attend "An Evening With Isabel Allende" in 2002 at the University Of Virginia. Wow, what an interesting person and the stories she told were great. She discussed many of her books and some of her life which is a story in itself.
  8. I have read most, not all though, of Pratchett's books and enjoyed them all. He is a great writer and I never get tired of his work. Like some other members, I really liked "Going Postal", the "City Watch" books, and the "Witches". Don't overlook the Witches as they are great.
  9. I am not quite sure this fits the topic category but I like books by Dorothea Benton Frank, i call her books "Beach Reads". They are enjoyable and easy to read, nothing heavy.....and btw, I am a male.
