  1. I already have. Katie has always eaten everything we do, and she has left quite a few things untouched, but now she is eating much more variety, and even vegetables (shhh I didn't say that;)). Tonight we are having curry, and OH is having his fish that he didn't eat last night.
  2. Thanks Michelle.

  3. Oh, and the band are getting me a practise mute.

  4. Thank you. I have had a lovely day out with the children

  5. Thank you:smile2: Mum rang me with that song at breakfast time!

  6. Aww, thanks a lot everyone! Just being with the girls makes getting older a lot of fun. OH got me a recipe book, but his other present hasn't arrived yet:irked:. Mum is getting me some trainers at the weekend, and hopefully a book or two as well.:D I haven't heard from my Sister yet, so don't know what else I am getting. I bought a coffee and walnut cake with the shopping for a treat this week, and thought we may as well have it tonight for my birthday:D I am buying some books from Amazon, but want to see what Mum is doing first.

  7. Isn't is annoying when you spend ages cooking to have it left uneaten?
  8. We are having mackerel fillets with chilli and lime, new potatoes, braides fennel and asparagus.
  9. Thanks Gyre. I am well thank you. How are you? Everybody loves my girls.:)

  10. Yes Kell you need to change it. Having said that, there is a similar list on here somewhere about me, which states I have no children. I now have two:mrgreen:
  11. Welcome:)
  12. If you get a book from a publisher, then surely it is in their best interests that they know exactly what people think of it? That is why they send out early reading copies isn't it?
  13. I have not been very good at writing reviews, and have been looking into new ways of doing them, different things to put in. I generally look at what the book is telling me about it, i.e, culture-wise, character-wise, setting-wise, time-wise etc, and go from there, regardless of whether I liked or disliked it. I am probably more likely to review a book I like for the same reason as Nici. I want to tell people what I liked about it, or what the book said to me. It is possible to write a review about a book you dislike, from the same angle a good review comes about one you do like. As a reader, I have trusted Amazon, but this is not the first time I have heard bad things about reviews on there. Other than that, I get most of my information here, though there may be a few places I go to read one-off reviews.
  14. Welcome Lizzybee
  15. Does that mean you always have to cook two dinners? Wait till Tadpole comes. He will have to eat what he is given then, otherwise it will be three slightly different dinners once the baby starts eating proper food. We had mince and mash tonight. Plenty of mince left too, so same tomorrow, and there is some uncooked still which will do a chilli on Sunday.
  16. Thanks. It was rather stupid how I asked that question. I guess I didn't know how to approach it. Thank you for the explanation.
  17. Your pics are beautiful. It looks like a lovely place.

  18. Well I remember being very stressed at school because I hardly ever knew what I was really doing. I got good enough grades, but could have done a lot better, and gone on to do better work in my degree. I think it is something to with the rules. We were never allowed to be inside the school at break times or ever to visit the staff room. Pupils were almost made to feel that it was wrong to talk to staff. During lessons there was often too much going on, with work and 30 pupils around. I got behind my abilities because I was rushing from one class to another without much time to digest anything or think about why I was confused about something. Lessons often too quickly moved from one thing to another too, so that we didn't spend much time on the important things, like learning to write proper essays, or math equations. It can't be too hard for teachers to spot when someone is changing their work habits and to spend some time with that pupil. Maybe schools are too worked up on discipline and paperwork. I understand that teachers are busy, and our school seemed to have a lot of detentions taking teachers time up, and unruly pupils taking up valuable lesson time.
  19. I shoudn't think so. I had to as well. You are not usually allowed outside help, but then I don't think I was given enough tuition to reach my full potential either. I think, from my experience, school lessons need to be catered more individually, though I realise that must be a hard thing to implement.
  20. Thank you. I didn't mean to whinge by the way. I love my life with OH and our family. It is just with you saying how hard it is, well I had to agree. I won't pretend it doesn't get very stressful, but I wouldn't change a thing. The only real support I have at the moment though is OHs Mum, who is wonderful, though I don't see as much of her as I would like. What do you do when you are out of ideas, or some of your writing isn't going so well?
  21. I forgot to add that we also had fresh fruit sald with natural yoghurt and honey, then coffee with italian coffee biscuits after. Tonight will be nice and easy. Sweet and sour sauce with turkey and rice.
  22. He is supposed to be schizophrenic, but I don't think he has had any halucinations for a long time. I could be wrong. Thank you for the links. I have been rather lapse in my time spent on this and should look into it more.
