Hi, Roger. It's nice to have you join us.

Hello, Jean. Welcome to the forum.

There have been a few books in which I have read the first few chapters or so of and then put down and changed to another book. However I have ended up going back and finishing them. That's usually due to being curious and wondering what happened later on in the book.
The curiosity is just too great, sometimes.

Now that the exam revision has eased up a little, I am going to have a read of The Pythons' Autobiography ~ The Pythons.
I've had it for a while and have been dipping in and out of it every now and then, so I've already read about a third of it. That doesn't matter, though, as I find it really interesting so it would be good to re-read bits.
It looks to be a good summer read.

I see I have not really read many Chunky Reads for a while, so I thought I would have a go at Monty Python's autobiography.

Hi. Welcome to the board. Hope you enjoy it here.

No, I don't do that when I'm reading. Even if it is a dull book.
I probably did that when I was little with Mr Men books or something, but I cannot remember doing that with a 'proper' reading book.

Hello Sarah.

Hi, Gyre.
I've been in two minds whether to get that Tim Burton book. No-one I knew had read it, so wasn't sure whether it was any good. Looked to be quite interesting, though. May have to invest in another book.

Nice one, Maureen. That's great news.

Finished off the last few pages of Treasure Island.
A really good adventure story. I liked the characters and the detailed descriptions of them. A jolly good read, I'd say.
I'm not going to bother starting a new book just yet. I'll wait until the majority of the exams are over with and then I'll probably move on to one of the many Python books I've got waiting on the shelf.

Bought a couple of singles the other week.

We Can Be Strong ~ Willy Mason

When it comes to how I hold a book, no matter where I am I always hold the both with both hands.
Usually with my left hand at the top of the left page and my right hand at the bottom of the right page.

Generally I will read only one book at a time, but in special circumstances (if the book is too heavy to carry about) I will start another book.
Quite a few people I know do that. My sister takes a lightweight paperback to and from work with her and has a heavier (usually a hardback) by her bed.

I went for a few -
Thriller
Horror
Historical
Fantasy
Adventure
Now I think about it, I wish I had also chosen other as I quite like crime books and non-fiction as well.

I haven't read it yet, but it is on the TBR shelf.
It looks like it could be an interesting little read.
It would be good to hear any thoughts on the book.

I've read Animal Farm a few times, now. The most recent being for English Lit GCSE.
I must say that I do love the book. I agree with you that it is such a clever story, and I think it's great the way Orwell gives each animal an important role within the book. This will be a book which I will be coming back to again and again.

Not too bad. I've got a second R.S. exam on Friday 22nd June, and then that's it. The past month of exams has gone by very quickly. It feels as though I should be having another few weeks of them. I've really enjoyed them, though. I love exams, so these weeks have been great fun.
