  1. Great news, you must be so relieved to find out it's nothing serious.
  2. Fool (if you think it's over) - Chris Rea
  3. Room by Emma Donoghue
  4. HI Taylor and welcome, hope you find plenty of book pals here!
  5. My old school was very serious and probably wouldn't have allowed any Disney or Harry Potter characters, would probably all have had to have been from Shakespeare!
  6. I listened to Emilia Fox reading "The Miniaturist" for one of the BBC's Book of the Week slots, and she was brilliant.
  7. I think it's a fairly recent idea here, certainly don't remember it when I was at school.
  8. Back to rain today, fairly mild though.
  9. Also finished The Phantom Tree last night, will post a review of that and The Snow Rose soon.
  10. It's really quite nice out, sunny and dare I say it a bit spring-like?
  11. Bright, sunny and chilly so far.
  12. Kissing a Fool - George Michael
  13. That looks lovely, do you find it very therapeutic?
  14. Thanks, they do look intriguing, lead me not into more temptation!
  15. I still find them dodgy going downstairs, I know a lot of people do but sometimes they do make your eyes play tricks on you.
  16. Or the Ruth Galloway series by Elly Griffiths - she's a forensic archaeologist.
  17. Those covers are lovely! Are they YA books?
  18. I think Lady and Unicorn took a while to get going, but once I got into it I loved it, and I remember really liking the ending. Hope you like it.
  19. It's stayed sunny so far, but still a cold wind.
  20. Finished The Snow Rose by Lulu Taylor on Friday - 7.5/10
  21. I'm in the same position as Talisman, because my prescription is so high I need thinner lenses otherwise they'd look like the bottom of a milk bottle! And they're coated and have a tint to stop the glare from artificial light etc, I've just got a new pair also varifocals and can't get on with them at all, they make me giddy, I think my old ones are actually better for reading, and first of all they were too loose, now they're too tight! I really think I'm going to go back to my old ones (which I'm wearing at the moment) and get a refund on the new ones, which are, as Talisman says, over £300.
  22. Same here, sun and rain, more rain unfortunately, cold and windy too.
