  1. No rain yet but cold and windy.
  2. Be careful not to overdo the potassium though, you can have too much of it! Good luck.
  3. Yes it got off to quite a strong start. I've been on holiday in that area so yes it's good to see familiar places, I have a photo of my mum and our old lab (who came with on that holiday) with that famous golden cliff behind them.
  4. In the last couple of days I've bought: A Banquet of Consequences by Elizabeth George (latest Insp Lynley) At the Edge of the Orchard by Tracey Chevalier The Cavalier Case by Antonia Fraser (a Jemima Shore mystery)
  5. Sunny here too, but cold and quite a few clouds so I suspect it won't last!
  6. Walking in Memphis - Marc Cohn (or Cher)
  7. Thanks for all your good wishes - yes there comes a time when it's not worth spending any more money on a car, and the insurance is due for renewal in April, and when the insurance costs more than what the car's worth....should have changed it ages ago really.
  8. Had the weirdest colour sky before - it looked like a really bad bruise - then it cleared up and was actually blue in a few places! Now damp and cold again.
  9. We had the hailstorm around an hour ago, it was hideous. Missed out on the bright sunshine though!
  10. Glad you had a nice birthday. Haven't got the car yet, picking it up this weekend hopefully.
  11. It's a Sin - Pet Shop Boys
  12. HI Vicky and welcome.
  13. Somehow I think I'll probably lag behind you!
  14. I had a few of the paperbacks, but there were so many, and they can get a bit repetitive.
  15. Rained most of last night, in fact it woke me up just after 2.00 as it was so heavy, and windy too, it was lashing the window at one point! Still pretty wet now.
  16. Howards End by E M Forster
  17. I'm enjoying The Team too, and am about 1/3rd of the way through last week's "Timeless (a good one this week), and I've recorded Sleepy Hollow which started last week. Also watched the new Person of Interest - finally showing series 5 - but the sound quality was appalling. I'm also really enjoying the repeats of the Young Montalbano, I only remember a tiny bit of each episode (watched 2 so far) but they're even better second time around.
  18. If it's fiction you can be anything you want! But yes librarian would be great, or I wouldn't mind working at St Mary's Institute (in Jodi Taylor's books). I'd like to be a writer too, based somewhere where writers in novels always seem to be based eg usually Cornwall or the Lake District or a Scottish island.
  19. I used to love Peanuts, still read it in the paper every day. We used to have a beagle and Snoopy is very accurate! Those meal blocks don't last long in our garden either, think the magpies and starlings get on them and break them up, sometimes they're gone within 24 hours of me putting out a new one!
  20. It continues to be an expensive year - bought a new car yesterday! Had to really as the old one is pretty much disintegrating before my eyes.
  21. Yesterday was grey, windy and drizzly, sunny now but still quite windy.
  22. Can you forgive her - Anthony Trollope
  23. I did watch this and overall thought it was quite good - haven't read the book. It did drag in places but the affair was shown as being very impulsive, and you do know right from the start that she's on trial for something. Emily Watson was excellent though.
