  1. I enjoyed the last part too- About the ending, I think I will benefit from the re-read and I will be starting tomorrow, so I can discuss in a few days. But I'm glad you liked it I can't wait for the movie! Daniel Radcliff is playing Ig! Note for thread: If you have not finished this book- DO NOT watch the trailer for the movie. It doesn't give away the end, but will be spoilerish.
  2. I agree- now I want some nicely toasted toast
  3. I think it would be good to read all 3 twice, it would take away from some of the confusing factor, I think Weave is reading them for a second time. I don't know if I could do it though lol And what is the module? Makes it sounds like futuristic bio-dome Devi, every time you post about the series it makes me want to read it!
  4. I searched and couldn't find anything so... Anyone have some favorite words? Any language would be interesting... I am particular to the word Erudite (wise) and I love the sound of Sphere (round like a Globe).
  5. We are big toast lovers in my family. When P started eating toast for the first time at a year old, I text my best friend and told her. She said "The next in a long line of toast lovers"
  6. Anyone get the letter with the details for the Kindle Fire update happening (to Fire OS 4) in the next few weeks? I wish there was an opt out button, I hate updates.
  7. A Good Morning text from my good friend. I text her Good Morning almost every morning and this morning, she got me first!
  8. Ya Oryx and Crake can be confusing at the beginning, but once the story gets going, it's becomes more normal. Year of the Flood however, is extremely confusing (to me). I'm giving myself almost 2 months to complete the Trilogy.
  9. Honestly, I read The Handmaids Tale and hated it. I really liked Oryx and Crake though. And I think I am liking Year of the Flood too. I noticed, on the cover, it describes Atwood as dark and dry. I couldn't put it better myself at this point in exploring her work. It's just odd. But Weave assures me that is part of Atwood's charm edit- awwww! Puppies!!
  10. ^^ Devi, I'm lol at that post by Gaia, it's like, terrible disease/ end of the world quote then yours about the movie I love it.
  11. Athena mentioned you read The Handmaids Tale... did you like it?
  12. Looking forward to your thoughts on it, I've always wanted to read it. I'm wanting to do Love in the Time of Cholera soon.
  13. I started Four: The Transfer, today at 9am! Amazing how easy it is to fall back into this world. I forgot how much I liked it, and how much I like the character of Four!
  14. Doing a co read of Veronica Roth's Four series with Athena for the read a thon. If anyone wants to read their little hearts out today, Saturday and Sunday, please join us! Claire- looks like you are already in
  15. OMG I am so with ya there! Is there room under your chair for me?
  16. Have you read them before? I'm in the almost to the middle of Year of the Flood. I like that cover of MaddAddam, but the one for Oryx and Crake is so creepy. Fitting Definitely some of the stranger books I've read.
  17. I gave up caffeine too- in 2001 and just started again this year! I can't believe how many more beverages I can enjoy now!
  18. Karl is so cute! I always name my cars
  19. 3.5/5 I think the book will be better!
  20. I like both I like caramel flavored coffee in the morning, then I usually drink sweet iced tea during the day. Although lately, I've been drinking a lot of Vitamin Water during the days. I love juices too. Tea can have more caffeine than coffee, I believe.
  21. I am only 25% in. It is a bit less strange and I am still trying to see the connection between Year of the Flood and Oryx and Crake (the books, not characters).
  22. That to me is just... 12 Monkey's type frightening.
  23. I Know! And reading Oryx and Crake/ The MaddAddam Trilogy doesn't help at all.
  24. I mentioned it in the other thread, but Clive Barker has a really good one, a YA, The Thief of Always. I'll be reading it to P when she is around 10 or so.
  25. I recorded last night's The walking Dead, which is playing on normal TV, not cable, so I am hoping it is edited I might read horror, but watching it is a whole new game!
