Your Reading Plans for the rest of the year

I agree, I will be reading it November 11th, I think -
That is awesome! The cakes look super good and so do you!! You tell that male nurse I said so And I like the sound of the short story (you know I love them!), I might have to tag that along during the Read a thon. Does she write more short stories?

I think I might stop scoring books too. In hindsight, I just either raise or lower them anyway. Luckily, most of the books I've read this year have been good so mostly I wish I had given then a higher score. I also don't think I will do a TBR, as the one I started off with in the beginning of the year, I just strayed too far. But I do like the smaller ones that have developed through the year, I've had maybe 2 of those with 5-10 books on them of just what I immediately want to read.

Congratulations on #64! Hawking is hard to read anyway, I mean the man is more than genius, he's almost sub human. I'm sure you will read more than those 4 this year! Happy reading -
Hope all goes well. Thinking of you

Revival will be out in the US and UK on November 11th, 2014! From Amazon UK and US: A spectacularly dark and electrifying novel about addiction, religion, music and what might exist on the other side of life. In a small New England town, in the early 60s, a shadow falls over a small boy playing with his toy soldiers. Jamie Morton looks up to see a striking man, the new minister, Charles Jacobs. Soon they forge a deep bond, based on their fascination with simple experiments in electricity. Decades later, Jamie is living a nomadic lifestyle of bar-band rock and roll. Now an addict, he sees Jacobs again - a showman on stage, creating dazzling 'portraits in lightning' - and their meeting has profound consequences for both men. Their bond becomes a pact beyond even the Devil's devising, and Jamie discovers that revival has many meanings. This rich and disturbing novel spans five decades on its way to the most terrifying conclusion Stephen King has ever written. It's a masterpiece from King, in the great American tradition of Nathaniel Hawthorne and Edgar Allan Poe.

A lot of people say that about her and objectivism. I don't mind. Even she states that it is more of an idealistic way to live, a way of life to strive for. I just read The Fountainhead this year and really studied it, took me forever. Here is my review: http://www.bookclubforum.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/12425-annas-books-for-2014/?p=400272 I read Atlas Shrugged and loved it also. I have Anthem on my TBR, hanging back in there somewhere- I might be able to do only one Rand book per year Although it is dystopian and that is one of my favorite genre's. I'd also be up for We the Living. No problem, it was a while ago since you read it. No, I have never had the pleasure, actually. I have Beyond Good and Evil in my stack, I got it for free from Kindle, but I am guessing Zarathustra should come first. *sigh* Perhaps next year

Your Reading Plans for the rest of the year

I've already strayed from my plan lol I stopped reading MaddAddam, as I was finding it to be killing my mojo! So I have turned to the ever dependable Jack Reacher to get me out of this slump. -
I'd be interested in your review of the Nietzsche book, if that is one you might review. I've studied a lot of Ayn Rand over the past 2 years. We love reviews around here- if you haven't noticed yet Looks like you have a good start on your thread! I look forward to seeing what you read for the rest of the year.

Interesting, I don't think of tanks when I think of Korea. It was a good movie, lots about the tanks, so you will definitely have a tankgasm Logan Lerman was terrific and so was Brad Pitt. And ya, I like boy films We have a dog, Rio "Sherman T" because he is such a tank!
-
I hope you enjoy it, we are big Stephen Hawking fans around here! Fascinating man. Fun Fact: We share the same birthday!
-
Lots of Brad Pitt, lots of tanks!
-
Nope, I could never get into that book. I hear the movie is wonderful though.

I am not giving up on MaddAddam. But I am going to put it down for a few days and read Never Go Back by Lee Child. It s # 18 in the Jack Reacher series. I only have one more to read and then a re read and then I am caught up Um... the next one you find in the library?? Just close your eyes and spin around!

I'm sure you're done by now How was it? Be interested to see how it compares to Four (although, it is only one chapter, just the overall concept.

I was just going to say, I'm glad you've been reading more!

I'm the complete opposite. I love re reading my favorite books. I love re discovering them, re living the enchantment I had with them, seeing how they have changed in my mind, finding new things in them. I rarely watch movies, I have a few that I watch as background noise because I know them so well, but on the whole, I don't watch many. I can go a book or two and return to a book, because I keep thinking about it, or I can go years with some books. I probably guilty pleasure read Valley of the Dolls every other year, but my favorite book, Gone With the Wind, I can go abround 2-3 years. Likewise, my third favorite book, The Good Earth, I've read only twice and that was about 7 years apart. If I didn't re read my favorites, I don't know, I'd miss some of my best friends edit: I don't really have a TBR pile, as I only buy the book I am going to read, when I read it. So my TBR pile is virtual, so to speak.

I'd say Illustrated Man is one of my favorite books of all time. Enjoy when you get to it! It reads fast and easy.

Merging Bookshelves in a Relationship
Anna Begins replied to Kylie's topic in General Book Discussions
I think that is healthy, actually. Having some place to have your own stuff and him having his own space. When I "co habituated" We were both big readers, but he mainly read text books, science and math books (Pretty much to show off ) but we each had our own shelves. We loved our books and didn't feel the need to share. Some we had few authors in common, but on the whole, everything was kept separate. Plus, he always left his current read in the bathroom- gross. -
I loved loved loved Sissy Spacek narrating Carrie on audio from Amazon. I'm a nerd Tam Dean Burn did an excellent job with Trainspotting as well.
