  1. I am enjoying reading Jane Austen's Persuasion, but I had forgotten how much you have to concentrate with Jane Austen's writing style. So I have started another book, something in the vein of light reading. Crocodiles on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters is great for a relaxing read, before bedtime.
  2. Hi Athena . Thanks, I am feeling good. I haven't been with the BCF for a while, but I'm hoping to be more sociable again!
  3. Started reading Jane Austen's Persuasion last night. I have seen the film version a few times, but now I'm trying the book. Finished The Case of the Gilded Fly (Gervase Fen #1) by Edmund Crispin. A Golden Age of Crime Mystery, first published 1944. Really enjoyed this book, so the Gervase Fen #2 will be next from the library.

  11. In bed, reading from my Kindle. Usually read for an hour, or less if I start to get drowsy. It's very soothing for me to read just before sleeping.

  14. Ooh, some lovely children's books . I bought The Phantom Tollbooth for 99p!
  15. Only 20ish pages of Alexander McCall Smith's Love Over Scotland, so I should finish that one this evening. After that, it's time to read....well, I should read some more of Middlesex, but my reading mojo is too skittish at the moment, and this book is not for me at the moment . Sometime for light reading, I think, so I'll carry on with Angela Thirkell's Cheerfulnes Breaks In.
  16. Ooh, a read-a-thon this weekend! I will participate too, as I should have plenty of reading time . Happy reading folks!!
  17. 28% of Jeffrey Eugenides' Middlesex so far . Plus Love Over Scotland (44 Scotland Street #3) by Alexander McCall Smith, as light reading.
