  1. Can you believe it's August already?! Anyway.. what's your book activity today? Are you reading anything? Did you buy any books recently? I'm currently working through my library loans. I'm reading Simone Kortsmit - Turntoppers 3: Gymroddels, I read book 1 yesterday (I didn't see book 2 at the library).
  2. Reviews of the books I read last week: Here's the list of books mentioned: Yoshitoki Oima - A Silent Voice 6: Volume 6 Yoshitoki Oima - A Silent Voice 7: Volume 7 Edward van de Vendel (ill. Floor de Goede, Ype + Willem) - Sofie en de Pinguïns 1: Sofie en de Pinguïns Craig Holden Feinberg and Dale Petersen - The Little Book of Shocking Food Facts Prunella Bat - Milla & Sugar 2: Een Fee Uit Duizenden (Milla & Sugar 2: Una Fata Su Un Millione) Tania Lacy and Danielle McDonald - Tracy Lacy 1: Tracy Lacy is compleet kierewiet!!! 3. I've decided I can't really take a break from my library loans if I want to get all or most of them read, so I'll just be reading my library loans. I finished a book yesterday, so I'll see which loans I feel in the mood to read this weekend (and that are also a bit suitable for the read-a-thon for my brain). It's a little early, but I hope everyone who participates, has fun reading this weekend .
  4. Yay !I hope you'll be able to do some reading. I hope you can do a least a bit of reading !
  5. Shame this one was a bit disappointing and too long! I enjoyed reading your review .
  6. Yay, I'm happy you're participating !! I hope you can make some progress on IT . I love that book.
  7. The next read-a-thon is scheduled for this next upcoming weekend, the [/b]2nd[/b], 3rd and 4th of August (next Friday, Saturday and Sunday). I just spent a week reading quite a bit (it was The Reading Rush - 22nd to 28th of July), and I have my library loans. I need a break from reading for a little while, so I may not read a lot today, tomorrow and Wednesday. Then I have to think about, do I think I can finish my library loans on time that I can read some graphic novels and manga during BCF August read-a-thon (like I usually do), or will I read my library loans instead (but I already read the ones with the most pictures)? Anyway.. will anyone be joining me in doing the read-a-thon this upcoming weekend?
  8. The latest book review is of E. J. Copperman - Haunted Guesthouse Mystery 2: An Uninvited Ghost, I read this book together with Sarah (Little Pixie). It was an enjoyable read with some unexpected twists!
  9. It was really hot! I don't blame you . Thank you so much !! Thank you !! I hope you find it some time for a nice price and that you enjoy it if you decide to buy and read it . Thank you so much Karen!! How have you been? I noticed you hadn't been posting much. I hope things are okay with you and yours .
  10. Great review! I'm glad you loved The Shadow of the Wind so much . I have the book on my TBR.
  11. Recently we saw A Silent Voice (after I finished reading the manga books) and we also watched Murder Mystery, both were enjoyable films. There were a few differences between the manga and the A Silent Voice film. Murder Mystery was entertaining.
  12. The Veil of a Thousand Tears by Eric van Lustbader (Pearl Saga, book 2)
  13. Necessary Lies by Diane Chamberlain
  14. A review of The Core by Peter V. Brett, book 5 in the Demon Cycle quintet. I also read The Great Bazaar & Brayan's Gold, and Messenger's Legacy. It was enjoyable to read the conclusion to this series. The Demon Cycle is an adult fantasy series that contains quite a bit of gore and some sex. Every night the demons come and attack the humans. Arlen, living on a farm with his parents, wants to fight back rather than hide inside. I read the first book in this series in 2012, so it's been a long time and I couldn't quite remember some things when I started on The Core. It's definitely better for me to read the books once all (or most) are out. Anyway, I enjoyed reading this series.
  15. Great reviews! I hadn't heard of Hunted Down. I like the cover of Fallible Justice!
  16. I use various wishlists on a Dutch website I often order stuff from. I also have a wishlist on Amazon UK and on Amazon US (the latter if for e-books only). I also have a document containing my old wishlist, containing author-(series-)title in alphabetical order, and I have an old wishlist on GoodReads. I would prefer a better system, but I haven't come up with one yet, so this will have to do.
  17. They predict 38 °C for my town today, 39°C tomorrow. Yesterday it was 36 °C, for Friday they predcit 35-36 °C. It should cool down here in the weekend, with hopefully some rain. It's hot! They are expecting heat records to be broken today and tomorrow.
  18. Graphic works I read during the July BCF Read-a-thon: Yoshitoki Oima - A Silent Voice 5: Volume 5 A nice continuation of the series, good volume! Ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. Natsuki Takaya - Fruits Basket 7: Volume 7 (re-read) Natsuki Takaya - Fruits Basket 8: Volume 8 I prefer volume 7 over volume 8. Skottie Young - I Hate Fairyland 4: Sadly Never After The ending confused me. I liked the rest of it though. Nagata Kabi - My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness 2: My Solo Exchange Diary 1 Nagata Kabi - My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness 3: My Solo Exchange Diary 2 I liked these two manga memoirs.
  19. The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon
