Peacefield Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 What?? They really say that?!I think the YA fiction available today is so great.. I wish I'd had some of these books when I was a YA. Which is probably why I'm reading them today... oh, goodness.. pathetic.. Nowhere near pathetic, Bethany! I think that's the reason I read them too, and dittos about the YA fiction today. All I had was Sweet Valley High when I was young, ugh.
Kimmy619 Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Sweet Valley High - me too!!! That is bringing back some memories. I used to watch the series too *shudders*
Peacefield Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Oh man I forgot they made it into a TV show too! Well, those folks only seeing the movie and NOT reading the Twilight books are missing out.
anubhuti24 Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I agree i saw the movie n read all four books too.. I don't know why but i jus loved it...I jus love the relationship between Edward and Bella...It's good to see that finally they both are together forever!!!
MissWhitlock Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I hated the together forever thing at the end of Breaking Dawn. All is well. I hate those kinda endings.
lexiepiper Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 But how annoyed would you have been if one of them died?
Nollaig Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 They could have killed Rosalie, Esme, or Emmett and I woulda been perfectly happy.
lexiepiper Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Noooooooo, not Emmett, but I don't care about Rosalie or Esme, although Esme is a sweet character from what little we see of her. I wouldn't have cared if Leah died, she was whiney and annoying
Nollaig Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 It would have sucked anyway if it hadn't been a vampire who died.
MissWhitlock Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I was really angry when no-one died apart from Irina. Like..really angry. I'd be more than happy if one of the Cullens died, it'd be a better book. I would never handle Alice dying though, not because she's my favourite of the Cullens but because of what it'll do to Jasper. He'd be heartbroken and probably annoy the Volturi!
lexiepiper Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 It's a hard choice, because if one of them died, it's most likely to have been one of the popular Cullens, and that would have just sucked, but it does feel like such a cop out that there wasn't even a fight
MissWhitlock Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 God, that meeting thing annoyed me VERY MUCH. They just...stood there..pretending like they were having some sort of tea party. Ugh. "hello dear aro, it's nice to catch up with you today!" *bangs head against the wall*
MissWhitlock Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Yeah, it would've been HEAPS better if the fight happened. HEAPS. And at least SOME people died- doesn't have to be the Cullens. And it's also annoying how Jacob ends up happy as well. And they ALL live FOREVER *bangs head against the wall again*
lexiepiper Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Yeah it's just all too perfect, and we all know life isn't like that
Nollaig Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 LMAO!!! Not you, Lexie, your head is grand I meant Miss Whitlock, she's hitting her head a lot.
MissWhitlock Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 The ending of the fourth book was just too frustrating.
Peacefield Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Wow, lots of head-banging posts to catch up on, and I was even here for a bit yesterday! I agree with all of you, btw .
Nollaig Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Random head banging Stephanie can't do violence though, can she? Being a mormon. Actually, if she can write about bed breaking sex, which she probably doesn't get either, then she can write about violence.
Peacefield Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 ROFL Roxi! Hilarious! Yeah, SM's books lack details on many important things, bloody violence and bed-breaking sex (or any sex for that matter) , being the two most important, IMO. Guess that goes along the YA vein, though. Let's all write her to convince her to write a version to our liking! YEAH!!
