Kimmy619 Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I'll admit I laughed out loud Although that face he makes really does look like he's smelling something terrible and stinky It actually makes slightly uncomfortable viewing....!!
lexiepiper Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Yeah it really does, the first time I saw it I howled with laughter and brought my BF running from another room to see what was wrong!
Kimmy619 Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 The other cringeworthy bit is the "You are like a drug to me, my own personal brand of heroin" *shudders*
BookBee8 Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 The other cringeworthy bit is the "You are like a drug to me, my own personal brand of heroin" *shudders* I actually loathe that line. It's my least favourite in the entire movie. The way he says it, his face, the words. All of it!
Peacefield Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 You can't see me, but I'm cringing just sitting here at my desk! I don't remember, but was that line about heroin even in the book? I did like the "Where else am I gonna go?" line... was that in the book? Wow, I'm such a bad fan, I can't recall!
Kimmy619 Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I need to go and find my book now to see if that is what he actually says!! I think he says something similar, but I could be wrong.....
BookBee8 Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Oh, it's in the film where I can't stand it. But then, I wasn't keen on the line in the book anyway . Some of my favourites quotes from the series come from Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, I laughed out loud several times.
Kimmy619 Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 There are lots of little one liners in both Eclipse and BD that make me laugh out loud.
MissWhitlock Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Yeah, it was in the book. He was trying to describe how hard it really was to be with Bella, and he started with an alcoholic then just progressed onto a Heroin addict. "you're my own brand of heroin" or something like that. I have to say, that's not the worst line..I know, it was in the book but it just made it even more hilariously ridiculous when said in the movie "I'm the lion, you're the lamb." "What a sick, masochistic lion" "What a stupid lamb"
Nollaig Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 "And so the lion fell in love with the lamb", is the first bit. It does sound very strange in the movie, but it's like a signature line from the book, so they couldn't really leave it out.
MissWhitlock Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Yeah, I guess so. It still sounded pretty funny though... ^
Peacefield Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I don't think I minded the Lion/Lamb line, but I do look away every time he gets to the "You better hold on tight little spider monkey" line, ugh. That I know wasn't in the book since CH said during the commentary that she wrote a bunch of lines for that scene and asked RP to pick one. I'm so disappointed he picked that one!
BookBee8 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 It does make me wonder what the other ones he had to choose from were. I don't mind that line so much though, Kristen's little giggle makes it bearable.
Peacefield Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 True, the giggle does help, and I'm curious too what his other choices were. Did anyone happen to look in their book and see what his line was in the hospital scene? I'm not at home so I don't have mine. I wondered if he actually said "where else am I gonna go?" That's one of my faves.
Nollaig Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Actually, that's a good question. I don't know does he say it in the book, but it's a great line. That spider monkey one kills me, everytime.
BookBee8 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Awh, no, I don't have my book here. But didn't they say that Rob added that line in? Along with 'It does in my world' when they're in the trees.
Peacefield Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Oh no I forgot about that line in the trees, Bee! Hilarious! Well I will need to check the book for that hospital line when I run home tomorrow.
MissWhitlock Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I didn't even get to hear Kristen's giggle at the end because me and my friends were too busy making "UGH!" noises when he said that spider monkey line.
Nollaig Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 It doesn't even make sense - I mean, surely HE is the spider monkey. He's the one climbing?
BookBee8 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Don't those spider monkey things cling to things like a koala? I might be making that up, I'm not really sure
MissWhitlock Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I know.. Weird indeed. The climbing trees thing was pretty weird too. "These things can't be possible!" or something "It is in my world" *starts jumping from tree to tree*
BookBee8 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I just googled 'Spider Monkey'. The first picture is pretty funny, especially when thinking of Bella. Yeah, quite a few of the lines were a bit..odd.
MissWhitlock Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Yeah. And the scenes were weird as well. especially the meadow scene. The meadow didn't even LOOK like a meadow..
