Raven Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Logan's Run It's been years since I last watched this, and despite all the flesh on view, and the spectacularly outdated effects, it was actually quite thought provoking. I think this is one of the rare cases where a modern day remake could actually improve on the original.
Stephanie2008 Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Burn After Reading. What did you think? I was really looking forward to this movie and come away thinking
Mexicola Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Oh I loved it! I saw it at the cinema originally and had to buy it. I guess it is a bit odd! But in a good way I thought. It's a shame you weren't so keen!
Stephanie2008 Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 I think it's because I was expecting too much from it, from the cast alone. Then I just felt a bit confused and not really sure what I thought of it. I'll have to rewatch it
Mexicola Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Yeah, I think it's better second time round. You can just enjoy it for what it is. Brad Pitt's character is hilarious
Kylie Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 I watched the second half of Gone with the Wind. Excellent movie.
Peacefield Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Loved 'Burn After Reading!' I had to buy that one too, Mexicola . My favorite line of John Malkovich to Brad Pitt - "You are part of a league of morons." You honestly can never go wrong with the Coen Bros!
Dimitra Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 The only thing I really liked about BAR was Brad Pitt. I just don't get the Coens. I watched (500) Days Of Summer last night, which gave me a feeling of weird sadness, but it was kinda brilliant.
Mexicola Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Loved 'Burn After Reading!' I had to buy that one too, Mexicola . rach.at.the.disco Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 Just finished watching Atonement.
chesilbeach Posted February 28, 2010 Posted February 28, 2010 I caught Oceans Eleven on television this morning, so I'm just watching Oceans Twelve now, and will follow it up with Oceans Thirteen later!
Peacefield Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 After seeing Fantastic Mr. Fox yesterday I was in a Wes mood so this morning I watched Bottle Rocket, my all-time fave .
Raven Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Run, Fatboy, Run Completely implausible, no one lucky enough to bag Thandie Newton would leave her at the altar!
Vladd Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Plunket and Macleane Not exactly historically correct but good fun.
Dimitra Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Just finished watching Atonement. What did you think? One of my favorite films ever...
Charm Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Daybreakers Made me think it was a bit of a cross between Blade and I Am Legend, it was ok.
Peacefield Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Plunket and MacleaneNot exactly historically correct but good fun. I completely forgot about this film, Vladd! I had the same thoughts. I especially laughed at the kind of techno music over all the action scenes . Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle were pretty funny in it too.
rach.at.the.disco Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 What did you think? One of my favorite films ever... I really enjoyed it. Saoirse Ronan is amazing, let's hope she has kept it up in The Lovely Bones .
dzposableheroes Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 I didn't like Atonement when I watched it. Maybe that's because my boyfriend has a very narrow taste in movies and made condescending comments throughout. I should watch it again by myself one of these days. I watched Serendipity this morning.
joe Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 The Time Travelers Wife, nowhere near as good as the book, but I wan't expecting it to be really. It did however capture the feel of the book .
