Whole Foods has Vinho Verde on sale right now. I bought three bottles.

Darn, I was in Wholefoods today and didn't check the wine. Oh, well, maybe Saturday.

How sad. I just love Whole Foods. The closest is 30 minutes away and past several other perfectly fine supermarkets but it's worth the drive.

I'll probably be doing a bit of wine drinking in a couple of weeks, as my Mam's coming up to visit & we're all going out for a meal, as it's right before my birthday & all. Actually, knowing me, I'll be going for the white wine spritzer - I'll turn into a lager-shandy lightweight at this rate - LOL!

Had a bottle of chilled gamay last night, which was interesting. Drinking chilled red with lightish meats seems to have gained some fashion.

 

I'm drinking not very good champagne tonight, just because I felt like it having been in the office 'til 9:15. Champagne makes me happy.

Bought one of my standards yesterday. MadFish. It's a blended red from Australia. During the fall and winter I drink it regularly. Also picked up another regular for me Bull's Blood from Spain (I think) very bold.

 

So chilled red Andy? I'll have to try that sometime.

Chilled, light red is really nice, and I do like any champagne or even some of the sparkling wines that Jacods Creek etc do. Make me feel like I'm at a party.

Drank some chilled red once in Barbados. I was a bit surprised at the time but it tasted very good.

I had a glass of fruity blossom hill at Mum's on Saturday. I know I shouldn't, but I haven't had any in months, obviously, and that wine is gorgeous.

Not had rose for sometime. We did have pink champagne a few weeks ago when we had the relatives from both sides round to the house for get-together and show of presents when my daughter got married. Rather a good day what I can remember of it.

I have a Rose for tonight.... Kumala. It was half price in Somerfield so I got myself a treat, and as it was half price I got the Kumala Zenith Red to go with it

Rose is not for spectacular taste. It's something lovely and light and refreshing in sweltering heat, I think. With rose I mainly want it to be very cold, and inoffensive.

That's what I'm hoping for. I love Red but I can't drink a lot as I find it very heady so I'm looking for a lighter alternative.

I enjoy the "Tin Roof Pinot Noir Rose" (a wine from Murphy Goode). It probably will not be available in Europe though. It is one of my favorite Roses'. I also enjoy the Marques de Caceres Rioja Rose from Spain.

Rennie and Dogmatix, there is a spanish wine called 'Sangre de Toro' in other words, bull's blood. So you're both right!
