Colin Jacobs Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 (edited) Ok you suddenly meet an alien from outer space. they say "Take me to your bookshop" What would you buy the alien to help him learn about the Human Race? My choice would be The Downing Street Years, By Margaret Thatcher. so when the aliens take over the world they will not make the same mistake as she did:roll: Edited January 27, 2009 by Colin Jacobs Quote
poppy Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Lol Colin, you come up with the most original questions Perhaps something like The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire then when they'd all fallen asleep through boredom, we could overpower them and send them packing. Quote
Nollaig Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I wouldn't give them a book. I'd say, 'K-pax or gtfo.' Quote
Andaira Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I wouldn't give them a book. I'd say, 'K-pax or gtfo.' I agree with that one Great question, Colin Quote
Weave Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 'The Wind Up Bird Chronicle' by Haruki Murakami, freak them out a bit Quote
Ben Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I was just thinking about War Of The Worlds and was just about to post it! Quote
jewell Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Definatley K-pax. But i'd tell them it was a real life story (which would be easy as it's written that way) and see their reaction. Quote
Nollaig Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Is K-Pax a book?? I thought it was only a movie O_O Quote
jewell Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 A book. It's actually a trilogy. Brilliant read. Couldn't put the books down. I read from beginning to end almost none stop. I would recommend them to anyone, even aliens. Quote
Nollaig Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Ohhhhh man this is gonna throw my amazon shopping list outta whack. I gotta have those books. I loved the movie - and thought the only similar book was the kid's book Del Del (which involves a little boy being possessed by an entity claiming to come from another planet.) Quote
Colin Jacobs Posted January 27, 2009 Author Posted January 27, 2009 Stephen Hawkings book on the black Hole. I can imagine the aliens laughing at his theory just like the Smash Aliens in the TV advert. Quote
Raven Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus - and they are on Earth, that should get them royally confused! Quote
